i want to get a betta but my tank doesnt have a lid will the betta jump very high

Has damage to a fin , a gash inbetween her belly and tail. What should I do? I fed her, cos she must have been there for 2-3 days! I thought perhaps she had died, and the other fish ate her but no, just realised what had happened. Wht should I do? Please?

I was watching W.S. Romeo + Juliet last night (the one with Leo and Claire) and I was admiring the aquarium that separated the restrooms and it got me to thinking about other movies with really nice aquariums in them.

So, what other movies have you guys seen with nice aquarium setups in them?

i went to buy a fish (swordtail) then when i came home i set the bag in the water for 30 minutes. when i was opening the bag to put the swordtail fish in it jumped out of the net! and it layed on the floor for about 30 seconds.i managed to put him in the tank before he died and when he was in the tank he just lies on the bottom on the tank and breathing fast.is it gonna be ok!?!?! i need help quick. also will these fish live togethere in peace? 2 guppies, 2 swordtails,1 molly,1 shark(its peaceful),and 2 neon tetras.

10 Gal. 3 dwarf puffers one has died, another is dieing. Two platy, one has bulging eye and swim bladder disease, the other is fine. 6 tetras all fine. Three days ago used Fungus Eliminator, via my pet store recomendation. After i used it i lost a puffer. I have the other puffer in a glass with tank water to die in peace....i feel so bad. What do i do. A water change??? Tomorrow is day four..and time for the next dose of Fungus Eliminator. My Platy did not get bulging eye until yesterday, two days after the fungus treatment. My poor fish. My first tank since i was a kid. Does my puffer have a chance if i put it in a glass with distilled water??? Help and hurry!

this is the first time that i fed my figure 8 puffer with a snail. I droped one yesterday and went to work. when i came back the snail is sitting on a plant ingoing him self. im thinking whats going on puffers love snails so i droped one more, no reaction from my puffer. I wont him to eat but i just cant get him to.

Ok My tank has cycled and we finally got fish today!!! 5 baloon mollies. I have an aquarium heater that is pre set for 78 degrees. I cant make it go lower than 78. Is that too warm for mollies? should I turn the heater off? or is that ok?

I have a crazy and awesome dwarf flame gourami who is an aggressive eater and territory-defender. His name's Julius. Get it? Cuz he's orange. Orange Julius. I'm clever haha. Anyway, since I got him, a black phantom tetra and a tiger barb have totally disappeared from my tank. There's a lid on it so they couldn't have jumped out and they're not stuck in the filter or in the little pirate ship I put in for them. Did Julius eat them?? What about their skeletons??? They're just gone.

I have a ten gallon tank with a comet goldfish. He's about 2" long. I came home at about 3:00pm yesterday and decided to give my fish (I have a bottom feeder with him)a small snack. He was right there eating like he has never eaten in his life. I was feeling a bit tired from work so i went to take a nap. I woke up at about 6:00pm and i noticed that my goldfish was gone!!!! I do have a cat but he HATES all fish of all kind and would never even go near water OR fish. I looked all around my room and everywhere in my house but i can't find him!! I REALLY miss him. If you can think of anything, anything at all (even magical fish faries) please put in a word.

I heve 55gal tank and just got 10gal for my son. if I would take 10 gall from my 55gal and pour that to his 10 gal tank would that mean that 10gal tank is cycled?

I have an angel fish in my tropical fish tank and it is dominating all of my other fish and wont let me add new fish. Its only about 20 weeks old and it lives happerly with the fish it has had all its life. It only attacks my other fish once or twice. It wont even let me add another angel fish iv tred and it killed it within 5 houres. I also added a dworf puffer and it atacked it but its still alive but its hiding. Iv got one of thoes nets that you put bad fish in but he/she gets extremly upset and it might get to stresed.

So, I have a 10 g. tank I got maybe 2 weeks ago and I put 1 Sunrise Plattee, 1 baby/small Colombian Shark, and 2 ghost shrimp. Both of my shrimp were pregnant, but I don't how long they were pregnant. Anyway, one day I found that 1 of my shrimp was gone, and it wasn't hiding, my sister said she say a skin/molting of it, but she wasn't sure. Then maybe a day or two after the first one disapeared my second one did. I doubt my fish ate them because they (I don't think) can even fit them in their mouth(s)....but now I don't know what to beleive.

At first I thought they were water spots on the glass until I saw them sway with the current in the water. It's white and slimy and I'm afraid it could be a fungus of some sort. I've been treating the tank with Melafix every day for prevention from adding new fish plus I have about 4 - 5 tablespoons of aquarium salt. I shouldn't have fungus growing. I am about to do a water change since I've had a spike in nitrites. I thought also it could possibly be the start of algae growth..but I haven't cycled my tank yet so I don't think that's it either. My fish don't seem stressed and nothing is growing on them.

My mom's fish tank is making a ton of noise and she's away on vacation.. It has stopped blowing bubbles out the tube and its making a very loud noise... so i took the top off and realized the little motor thing isn't in there secure and its flying all over the place.. i tried getting it to stay still but it doesnt...

I know nothing about fish tanks but I dont want the fish to die.. Anyone have a clue how I can get this thing to start blowing bubbles again?

Not oscars, cichlids and such. I fishkeep (and want to fishkeep) zebra danios, dwarf gouramis, cherry barbs, and serpae tetra. I feed them TetraColor flakes and Hikari micro wafers, and the occasional bloodworm. If there's anything better, what would you recommend? It is said aquarists need to have a varity of fish foods in order for their fishies to be the best in status.

The product is a self cleaning water filter for fish tanks, ponds ,fountains etc. Once you set the timer it cleans in less then a minute even while your on vacation. It does not use electricity to work. Again thanks for your help.
