All living things need sleep to function...including fish. Some fish don't actually sleep fully because some of them sleep with one half of their brain at a time.

Fish sleep. If you turn off the majority of the lights in a room and go to observe the tank, the majority of the fish will be sitting on or near the bottom sleeping.

Yes they do. Depending on the species. My jack dempsy actually lays on the tank floor supported by his pelvic fins/ (the ones infront of the vent) Our oscar does it as well. If I am a little bit early in getting up and turning the tank lights on they are still dozing at the bottom and takes them a moment to 'wake up' if you will and come after their breakfast. If I am on time or late I do not catch them in this lazy state. So yes I would say they sleep. However fish not having eyelids they are unable to close their eyes.

I think they do. Cause my fish stay still for a long time without moving so i assume they are sleeping and when i go near they move. I heard there sleeping even if there eyes are open

yes Sometimes fish take short naps during the day. When it is dark, and all is quiet, the fish will slow down, and will eventually go down to either the bottom or the top of the tank. They will breath slowly, and their fins will either not move, or move a bit. This is very relaxing to watch :).

Yeah but you need a special procedure
1. Let it swim in warm milk
2. Turn of the Aquarium lights
3. Tuck it into some sea weed
4. Let it wear blinders
5. The last but not the least read the dictionary to it till it falls asleep

CAUTION: Fish might die of boredom.

Most all fish spend time in an energy-saving state that can be called "rest", and we might even call their behavior "sleep", though it is probably different than "sleep" in most land animals.

Fish are like cats in a way, they have an extra eyelid so it may appear they are awake while actually dreaming.
