Is it just seasalt or just the regular store bought one?

I wouldn't suggest using salt in a Koi pond as a regular water additive. It can be very useful for treating certain diseases, but the Kio will not benefit from the salt. When using salt for disease treatment kosher salt is a good choice unless you have a huge pond in which case agricultural salt purchased by the ton at a feed store would be the best idea.

no no no- be careful-
food salts are WAY to strong for the fish- iodized=bad

the kind they sell at aquarium stores - it should say that it's fine for koi right on the box- plus it's fairly cheap- a coupla' bucks probably- read these articles
salt might wipe out the plants and algea
koi can handle a certain level of parasites as they have like since forever...

aquarium salt.
NEVER use household table salt iodized or not. Aquarium salt can be bought at any pet store and even walmart carries it.
