I will have a koi pond. An area in it is three foot deep, rising up is a 2 foot level and a basking 1 foot area. I have a bridge. Will the koi be able to retreat to the deep area and under the bridge to avoid the heat? I live in texas.

Starting a new aquarium and decided to go with sand. Got about 4lbs of play sand, rinsed it well. This took forever!!Added in a couple gallons from my mature tank and put some of the mature gravel inside nylon stockings into my new filter. Filled the new tank with fresh, conditioned tap water. It still got quite cloudy. It's been 24 hours and its at least half as cloudy as last night. When is it safe to transfer a few fish in? Saw some sites that said too much sand in the circulating water will suffocate the fish and now I don't know how long to wait before adding them.

I have a 2.5 gallon aquarium at work with a betta (male), ghost hrimp, and mystery snail. I just cleaned it this morning (25% water change). Now, I look in the tank and midlevel attached to the side of the tank are about 30 little pinkish orange dots. They look like tiny eggs, but who could they have come from?

I have a airpump for my 28 tank to supply my fish with dissolved oxygen, but a powerhead seems much more impressive than a bubbly old airpump. If they are better than an airpump what is a good type to get? Heres a link:

Hi, I have a Large Tropical Tank with a lot of rocks and caves and i have ordered plants to go as a background at the back. I need a really nice BIG colourful fish, thats out of the ordinary (i.e Not mollies and tetras) that will not move my decorations or eat my plants! I really like Cichlids but apparently they are destructive and eat plants! Please Help Me!

My friend is keeping her fishtank at my house while she moves. She had come over and set it up and everything seemed fine, but 2 days later 2 of the fish had died and the NO2 level was as worse as it could get. She changed the water and added more filters and air pumps. Then the next day the NO2 was horrible again as well as the PH. Are there any specific problems we should be looking for?

Hi. I bought a fish aquarium in october.(wen winter starts).
Now it is May(summer starts).
I have 7 kissy fish( calm fishes) and 3 KARP(medium fast).
Do fishes breed in summer? They lay eggs or simply deliver nourished one? Do filter catch eggs? How to come to know if a fish is pregnant? If she is how to care for her? Oh GOD i know nothing , please help me out

i am pretty sure now that i have a female. Ty to everyone who answered me. I bought my betta bout 2 mo. ago from a pet store and the guy didn't know anything about bettas, so if my betta is dropping little white and clear balls is she laying eggs or could something else be wrong? Or if she is laying eggs how many do they usually have?

Is it preferable to use either iodized or uniodized salt for my tank of shark catfish? They are 5 inches long. I jus got them. Or is there any specific type of salt i should use? I have crystallized iodized salt, is that ok for them? or something else? If i put salt, will my submersible power filter get affected? Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. I also have the tank temperature at 25C, is that about right?
