I will have a koi pond. An area in it is three foot deep, rising up is a 2 foot level and a basking 1 foot area. I have a bridge. Will the koi be able to retreat to the deep area and under the bridge to avoid the heat? I live in texas.

That should work fine. You might consider a few additional options as well though, 1. a fountain will really help keep the heat down. A few floating plants will help shade the water and keep it cooler as well as give the fish additional places to retreat if needed.

They will be fine in your pond setup. Having some lotus or bigger leaves floating plants helps but make sure you do your homework on any you decide to include as some of these floating plants could easily grow out of control and become a problem.

yes but if I were you I'd invest in a chiller(you can buy these at specity shops and at www.aqueriumguys.com but you have to serch for them on the web site under chillers) but these can cost up to $1000 so maybe you'd rater invest in some water plants or a big shady tree by the pond.

I think that should be alright because heat rises. All so try putting a chiller in there.
