that may be stupid Q but just making sure. Can my heater melt plastic plant in side a full tank if its touching it

It depends on how hot the heater is set and the type of heater. If the heater is set over 80, then after a few hours it'll melt the plant.

It might get melted. Just move the plant away from the heater so that it's not touching it.

There is a possibility. I would just move the plant or get a cover for the heater. The covers can be purchased from most local fish stores.

So can & some can't. What I mean is some types of heaters do not get that hot to the touch. What type of heater do you have? And what kind of tank are you speaking of?
