I got a bala shark today from petsmart. In the tank he looked ok and was swimming around. I set his bag in the water for about 15 min, then put him in. Along with a dinosaur bichir, a dwarf puffer, and 3 ghost shrimp. This is the first time my awuarium has been inhabited. The other fish seem ok, but the shark is sitting on the bottom with his fins and tail just kinda twitching. Is this normal? Is he ok? If not, what could be causing it? Is it a water problem or is he just sick? Can i be fixed?

Please help!

We've had 2 goldfish for about 3 years now... and they were getting rather large for their tank. We purchased a new tank along with 2 new goldfish. We treated the water correctly and placed all the fish in the tank. The next morning we found the white spots (ich) on our older golddish. Ive been using "Ich Guard" and changing 25% of the water each treatment, just as the bottle says. But the spots are only getting worse! I read a little bit and it said to raise the temp a bit as well. Am i doing everything right? What else should i do? I dont want my fish to die, im so proud of my 3 year old feeder goldfish! Please Help!

My uncle has about a 5-6 inch oscar fish in a 55 gallon tank. He is beautifully marked...white with orange markings and and intricate pattern. My uncle has to get rid of him because he is terrorizing the other fish. If he sold it to a pet store or an individual, how much could he get for it?

I have a 20 gallon tank, with two goldfish (One's a black moor and the other is a Ryukin). The tank is about 3 months old and this is the very first problem we have run into. Well, we introduced a placo last Sunday into the tank and he seemed to be alright. Later on that night, I noticed that he had white spots all over his little body and we seperated him from the rest of the fish. The next morning the goldfish started hanging out at the bottom of the tank and every once in a while they swim around. They do have normal apetites, but I've started noticing that the black moor has milky skin while my Ryu has red streaks all over its fins.

I have been treating them with tank buddies parasites since Monday, but the goldies don't seem to be changing their behavior. The Placo, however, died this morning. I'm at my wit's end and I don't know what to do. Should I take the fish out and scrub the tank completely? Or do I change the medications that I'm placing in the tank? Please help me!!

I have a freshwater tank where i keep chilids and have been pretty successfull with them, but for my next tank I want to try a saltwater tank. Is it much more difficult? I heard you have to have a large tank for salt water. What is the smallest tank that can handle a salt water set up?

I don't want to spend nifty bucks to get rid of it. It makes the water green, but there's no other kind of algae in my pond. The pond is small so I can't get any more fish. I'm planning to put plants in it, but i can't do it right away. is there any easy way to get rid of it? i only have 2 choices if i need to buy a product: petco and home depot garden center.

I have two 1inch Comet goldfish that are happily swimming in a 1 gallon tank. I have a bigger tank, a ten gallon tank, that needs a filter, light, air bubbler, and lid. It will cost me alot of money to buy the items, so can I just keep them in the small tank or do I have to buy the other stuff? If so, why and what is so important about keeping them in a bigger tank? Will it kill them? How do you breed them? Do you need real plants? Can you cross breed fish?

They are my boss' fish, but of course, i take care of them. One won't eat, hasn't eaten in weeks. He had mouth fungus which we medicated him for and it went away but he comes up to the food as it floats and he just pushes it away with his mouth. Looks as though he wants to eat it, but won't. Is this the end for my little buddy? I'm sad. They've been alive for almost 3 1/2 years. Anyone?

People say they don't need a lot of space. Some people say they don't need a lot of water. I say all fish would appreciate as much space as possbile. What do you think? Just because bettas can survive in a bowl, should they live in a bowl?

ok I have turtles and decided to buy them some feeder guppies from the pet store and just put all the fish in the tank, the turtles werent that interested in them and they just swam around them. when i woke up this morning i found some baby guppies in my tank, i caught them all and put them in another tank. But the question here is waht do i feed i them? i dont have fish food since the fish were suposed to be a snack for Elvis and Elmo. so i took some frozen shrimp and cut into very small pieces and it just sits at the bottom of the tank. I found about 5 babys, do you think there could possibly be more in my tank? BTW theres 14 feeder guppies in there so some might of been eaten?

thanks!
