yesterday, i was worried that the fungus will take over the gold barb, that i increased the temperature...
this morning i found that bits of the fungus was fading
after school its practically gone!!

did increasing the heat help get rid of it??
is my barb going to be okay now??

Quite possibly. Many fungi common to aquariums are heat sensitive. Still, I would watch for it's return very, very carefully. Also watch carefully for any signs of other diseases. Fungi are usually found on otherwise sick fish and rarely on a healthy fish. I wouldn't depend at all on heat alone to treat fungi in a tank, too many are not that heat sensitive. I have found Maroxy to be a very effective fungi treatment.

Chances are its over with but i'd keep the temp up for a few more days MM would be able to tell you more but yes temp plays a major part in disease control in the fish tank, i try to avoid adding chemicals as this can cause more problems than its worth, obviously running an amazon set up i very rarely have any problems with normal illnesses like white spot or fungus, which is generally down to the temp of 85f the tank is set at.

Yes, heat will kill fungus, be careful no to over heat the tank, it might kill your fish.,
