ok I have turtles and decided to buy them some feeder guppies from the pet store and just put all the fish in the tank, the turtles werent that interested in them and they just swam around them. when i woke up this morning i found some baby guppies in my tank, i caught them all and put them in another tank. But the question here is waht do i feed i them? i dont have fish food since the fish were suposed to be a snack for Elvis and Elmo. so i took some frozen shrimp and cut into very small pieces and it just sits at the bottom of the tank. I found about 5 babys, do you think there could possibly be more in my tank? BTW theres 14 feeder guppies in there so some might of been eaten?

thanks!

Female guppies can have anything from 8-50 babies at a time..So there could be more, The will eat crushed up flakes but ur frozen shrimp should be ok,

Ok i breed guppies all that you need to do to feed them is take a normal falke food(since you arn't worried about color dont get anything fancy) and grind it between your fingers and the fish will eat it that way the guppies are eating the brine shrimp but just little nibbles plus with that many guppies in your tank that are full grown i should warn you that there will probrably be more fry soon since a guppy has a gestation period of 28 day and give birth to live young and there can be between 10-200 little ones at a time. plus the more times they give birth the more they are likely to have each time

I would say that there were plenty of other babies that have already been eaten by either the adults or the turtles. Why not return the babies to the tank so they can become food for the turtles as planned? The adults may eat them first, but they will eventually make it into the turtles. In the mean time, they would eat whatever you plan to feed the adult fish, flake foods being the easiest and cheapest way to go.

Guppies are live breeders, meaning they don't have to lay eggs in order to multiply!!! And they will incredibly fast! Buy them some flake fish food for tropical fish and keep a close eye on them because they will just keep breeding! Yes, there could possibly be more inside of the tank...babies also like live plants, gives them nutrients they can easily find before they're old enough to realize the flake food....Give them flake daily anyway to take notice as to when they catch on!! Hope that helps!

You can feed new fry crushed tropical flakes, or baby brine shrimp. You can also buy fry food at any pet shop! Guppies can have anywhere from 20-100 fry, average is 50!

As NEW fry, they're too little to eat brine shrimp. Boil an egg, then remove the white. Mash the yolk until its a paste. Then feed them the yolk :)
