How big do they get? What to feed them? Any precautions to take?

They're also known as the Spiny eel. They get up to 2 1/2 feet long and are strict carnivores and are classed as semi-aggressive. They need a minimum 50 gallon aquarium, longer is better than deeper, obviously. They bury themselves so a softer substrate is necessary and the burying causes them to uproot plants and decorations, etc. 4 tsp of salt per every 5 gallons of water is beneficial to them. Other fish should be large enough that the eel doesn't see them as food.
A carnivore, the Tire Track Eel should be fed live foods such as earthworms and black worms, as well as frozen bloodworms. Prepared tablet foods as well as krill and ocean plankton may eventually be accepted.
