1 Peacock Eel
2 Knife Fish
3 Silver Tipped Catfish
3 Spotted Pictus Catfish
5 Bala Sharks
2 Cory Catfish

I am planning on the guppies being food for some in a couple months, but what do you thin about the rest? (bichir, sharks, catfish, knife fish, peacock eel) Will they be fine?

I just lost 5 beautiful Bettas. I brought them home & they all died w/in 3 days from a fungus "wool" disease. I had one left who just came down w/it this a.m., went to the pet store & got aquarium salt & Methtlene Blue. I cleaned out the two tanks, the one w/the already infected fish & the other bowl w/the Betta which is fine. I have sterilized the bowls & am going to go to pick up one to replace one that died this a.m. & the other, even tho treated, I know is NOT going to make it the nite. I am down to one Betta, but it's in a treated bowl w/NO signs of the disease. Does anyone have any helpful hints to give me as I am determined to start over again. I just love these beautiful fish & they are a joy to watch. I have 3 separate "fancy" bowls & am going to fill each one!! HELP!!!

I have a 5 gallon hex tank from Wal Mart and do not know what I can put in it. I made some choices, but people told me I was overcrowding. I recently moved the 2 sunset coral dwarf platies into the tank yesterday and they seem to be fine. What other fish can I put in with them? Yes, I know their arent that many choices, but I just like being a fish hobbyist. Just to let you know I'm not a beginner, I already have an 18 gallon tank that I just moved the platies from. My mom says I can't move anymore fish into the tank from the 18 gallon.. If you have any advice on keeping the fish you suggest please let me know! Thank you! :-)

Okay so my friend was going in to her art room to work on some stuff after school ,a ndI was following her. She was workin on her art and im just looking around, then I see this aquarium with the water like neon green! Im like "uhh...why is the aquarium green" and the teacher like "cause there are 2 many fish"
So I go up I look at it, theres maybe aobut 6 guppies, 1 albino cory, and a mickey mouse platy(not sur eon numbers cause u couldnt see further than an inch back, but she said she had aobut 8 fish)
So anyway, I asked about her maintenence. She said she clean the tank(gravel vac) aobut twice a week, and changes the filter every other week. So I advised her to just rinse the filter in tank water during a water change and not dispose of it untill she had 2. I also told her that cories need groups. As far as the algae, all ive said so far is that soem live plants will help and I can give her a bit of hornwort and possibly wisteria if I can spare some.

ok here are the details:

-when the mle chases the "female" (i think its female) and makes the kissing gesture, the feamle does not kiss back, it just swims away to the bottom of the tank behind the artificial rock.

-Will usually only eat the food that floats to the bottom of the tank where "she" is.

-stays low near the bottom (near rocks, fake plants, and tunnels)

-if the female gets near the male it will usually chase her off.

*Where would the eggs usually hang out?
*Do females make any kind of kissing gesture?

********DO you think they have courted?********

I have a 10 gallon tank. It has 2 rosy barbs, 3 black tetras, 3 neon tetras and 2 mollies (i think). I also have 2 live plants. I leave the light on from about 11am to about 10-11pm. I see that i have what looks like rust growing on the rocks, plants and the filter. My water is fine i just tested it. Is it an algae that is growing from too much light possibly? Any way to fix it besides less light?
