I've been using the same can of fish food for over 1 year already, should I buy a new one?

Yes, time to replace that can with a new one. Fish food does lose nutritional value as it ages and after a year would have very little vitamin content left compared to fresh food.

I sure as heck wouldn't feed my children six year expired milk, so fish and fish food is no excuse. If it's expired it's expired for a reason my friend. When you can go to the store and buy good fish food. Boil an egg for ten to fifteen minutes and feed it the yellow part. Heard it works well enough to have it live til it gets fish food. Feed it small bits and only in moderation. The white part is a no-go and can make it sick, you can keep that for yourself.

I wouldn't say it expires but over time it will lose some of its nutritional value. So your best bet is to go get some new food.

Fish food is dry. Nothing will happen to it unless you leave the lid off and somehow it gets damp and starts to grow moldy. You're fine. Nothing to worry about.

nope...it might not be extremely fresh but nope... it's like peanut butter...nothing happens unless it's open and even then it can stand in the fridge for ever
