I was throwing weed prevention granules out on a bed ready to be mulched today and the wind was blowing and it blew some of the particles into the small pond where the gold fish and 1 coy fish are. I did not see them eating any of it, but I was afraid they may die from it.

it is like Preen or Treflan , pre-emergent for bed areas.

Ok so my newest reef tank is about 5 mounths old. I have corals from mushrooms, star polyps, xenia, button polyps and a few sps frags I threw in. I have 2 leather corals also in this tank. One is a fiji leather and the other is a finger leather. Now I recently put the fiji leather in and it is at least 6" from the finger leather. It appears they are adversly effecting each other though. I have watched them with the lights out and the trailers from the fiji do not touch the finger leather at all. I have altered the currents in the aquarium so the finger leather is not downstream of the fiji anymore but it still appears they are at odds. I really want both of these in the same tank and their placement is perfect for color and general look of the tank. Anyone ever experience a difficulty keeping these leathers this distance from each other? I was considering moving the finger leather down about 4" but keeping it in the same general location to see if that makes a differance.

I bought the Ugly duckling about four months ago, Unmarked and in blue water. I thought no one else would want him like the spindly christmas tree in Charlie Brown's Christmas Story.

As you can see he is Now the Beautiful Swan but, I have no idea what type he is? Anyone know? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Here he is lounging!

My mom recently decided to decorate her tank because she said i decorated it like crap. She went to the 99 cent store and bought 2 bamboos. These bamboos came in 2 pots with dirt and rock in there. I want to know how can i make them acceptable for a freshwater tank. here is what they look like

I don't have the chance to get to the store until tomorrow night (in college, don't have transportation), and I need a quick way to lower the ammonia. I've done a couple of 25% water changes over the past couple of days, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. I treat the water with this stuff that instantly makes tapwater safe.

I've had her for about three weeks, and suddenly these little white spots have appeared on her. Will my other fish get sick? I have 2 mollies (including the sick one), 2 tetras, 2 glassfish, one gourami, 1 little frog and 1 algae eater. I put those drops in the water to cure 'ick'. will that take care of it?

I believe that they are Corydoras aeneus, but I'm not totally sure. I've got 4 in a 56 gallon community tank with gouramis and tetras, and they have been pretty prolific about spawning. My problem though is that they place their eggs on the glass of the tank, and when I have tried to scrape them off to place them in a smaller tank, I have been breaking the eggs. My pH levels are actually pretty high (8.2-8.4) for these guys, and so I'm wondering as well if the pH could be affecting the integrity of the egg. Unfortunately, I cannot lower the pH unless I opt for a reverse osmosis system, because I have well water. Bottled water gets to be too expensive when I do weekly water changes!! So how do I get the eggs off? And better yet, once I do, what's the best way to hatch the eggs?

I have an african cichlid tank that I have had for about a year and it seems I'm having all the problems now! My fish have parasites and I gave them the Jungle Lab Parasite clear tablets about a month ago and they seemed better until about a week ago. I read in some articles that parasites go away and always come back and that you should get rid of the tank. I want to know if thats true and if not what can I do to permanently get rid of the parasite problem. I dont want to keep spending money on lots of medications just to have them come back! Any suggestions?

My goldfish is swimming almost vertically so I read that you should give him peas that have been skinned, boiled, etc. and he just wont eat them. He will spit it out after he eats one. Also his is losing his scales on mostly the right side of his body. We also have a sucker fish and he sometimes grabs ahold of the goldfish but the goldfish shakes him off.

I got 2 male beta fish for a gift last week. One is blue the other red.
They came with a special beta tank that has a wall between them that you can take away so they see each other but still have glass between them so they can't fight.
I don't know what to name them so some ideas would be appreciated.

my female betta has this white spot that is protruding from right underneath her belly. it's extremely small, but i'm certain it wasn't there before. she's also not eating normally--she'll take food, swallow it, but then it looks like she's gagging and spits it back out. otherwise she's acting completely normal and happy, swimming around and making bubble nests.

maybe it's a tumor? can fish get tumors?

anyone have any ideas on what's up?
