I bought the Ugly duckling about four months ago, Unmarked and in blue water. I thought no one else would want him like the spindly christmas tree in Charlie Brown's Christmas Story.

As you can see he is Now the Beautiful Swan but, I have no idea what type he is? Anyone know? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Here he is lounging!

Like the title to the question says:

I know what kind, I do know how to care for him etc.
Just did not know the type.

Thanks

That's a multicolor crowntail. Any two or more colors that don't include clear or cellophane is a multicolor. Nice fish!

he is a crowntail betta. You CAN put him in with other fish of a different species, fish that do well in community tanks work the best. You do however need to watch out for fin nippers though. He wont hurt any other fish unless its another betta. If you get female bettas they cannot go in with him, but you may house a group of female bettas together.

Nice Multi-Colour Betta. While you cannot put him with other male bettas, he can be placed with other fish that are not notorious for fin nipping.
