I have an african cichlid tank that I have had for about a year and it seems I'm having all the problems now! My fish have parasites and I gave them the Jungle Lab Parasite clear tablets about a month ago and they seemed better until about a week ago. I read in some articles that parasites go away and always come back and that you should get rid of the tank. I want to know if thats true and if not what can I do to permanently get rid of the parasite problem. I dont want to keep spending money on lots of medications just to have them come back! Any suggestions?

the fish are also having what seem to be spasms...they will be swimming then all of a sudden they'll just come to a halt and start having what just seem convulsions. They cant control it at all.

It is very important to know what parasite it is, or at least have a very close idea. Please indicate what you see as symptoms and what parasite you think you are dealing with and I can help. In no case will it require you to get rid of the tank, of that I can assure you. We can solve your problem without that or even major expense. Please post up the needed info or feel free to email me at magicman116@yahoo.com

that's common for Mollies to sit down down back in simple terms below the exterior, yet no longer gulping air from the exterior. that's no longer authentic what the owner stated. This does sound like some form of gill flukes or parasite. probable attempting some Parasite clean Tank friends by Jungle Labs will help them. And sure, i could recommend you are trying this for the full tank by fact that your Rasboras are flashing now. in simple terms persist with the guidelines and save an eye fixed on anybody greater mutually as the meds take effect. The water would be extremely cloudy after the meds and you need to take the coal out of your clear out.

First off NO you do not have to get rid of your tank if your fish get parasites.

Secondly, little white bubbles, like sugar grains? Small dots? Before you treat for any parasite you need to know what you are treating for. Parasites will attach themselves to stressed or injured fish.

you need to figure out what the parasite is and fairly quickly. A picture would be helpful.

Do you know which parasite it is? If it is ich I would either treat with salt and heat or Quick Cure (ignore the directions: one drop per gallon, every 3-4 days do a 50% water change and add on drop for every gallon you replace for a total of 4 doses). That should do it.

Also, keep your tank as low stress as possible to ensure that the fish are happy and their immune systems are healthy.
