Fish - March 2007

He has spots on him that look furry. Could he have been attacked overnight or is he sick? I've only had him/her for 2 weeks. I watch them every day to look for signs of anything out of the norm, and this morning was the first time he had any marks on him. What should I do? If he's sick does he need to go into another tank, or will a bowl work? Ever since he joined the tank my puffer has also been acting funny. My puffer just sits on the bottom or on a rock. He doesn't have any marks like the gobi, but it's not normal for him.

I have a 55 gallon tank(the long one) a whisper 60 gallon filter,60 gallon air pump by aqua tech,a heater, the tank is filled with plastic plants and two caves with one amazon sword that is doing rather well. the ph is 7.0 nitrates,nitrites, and amonia is low or none i have one 5 inch gold fish and one 2 along with 6 danios's about 2 inches to 3 inches each the water is kept to 74-75 i have tried crystal clear from walmart with no help, there is always a whitish coloration to the water... i am unsure how to clear this up any help would be apriciated

I have fish dieing because of Ick. Is there anything I can use to save the rest and get rid of the disease? I have a 29 gallon tank with about 10 fish left. I have tried Quick Cure, which was recommended by the pet store, but it has not worked. What is the best treatment to use, that's fast and easy?

So about a week ago I realyzed that one of my snails was missing. I guess he got away through the top of the tank although now its fixed btw so dont fuss at me.

Today, I moved my shelf to a different spot and there he was.

I put him in the tank...idk y. And OMG! Hes alive???!

so they can live out of water to? I thought hed be dead but wow. Im so glad hes not.
sorry Im just amazed lol.

Hey all
I was just hoping someone could help me with my Axolotl pet problem. I purchased him yesterday and all seemed well when he was first placed in the tank. However as timed went on, I noticed the Axolotl kept swimming to the top of the tank to stick its head out gasping for air. Naturally this worried me...
I changed the tank water in hopes things would change but still the problem continues and today he floats on the top of the water. It now appears he is floating because when he swims he cannot keep his balance in check. I tested this by gently pushing him down only to watch him float right back up. He is now struggling to race up the top and gasp for air due to his off-balance. Please for all Axolotls pet owners that know what's happening, help me!!!!

i have bought a female guppy today and she is heavily pregnant, this will be the second time i have had babies, but the last time we werent successful in raising them, we put them in the breeding box for 2 weeks and then let them out by that time the rest of the guppies had died and they were put in with 4 tetras and 2 dwarf catfish, they were eaten. anyone got any tips on how to look after them so they will survive. please help! thnx

We have a 55 gal tank, with an angel fish, apple snail, dragon fish, and plecostmus, {an algae eater}, and one of those flighty white fish with pink eyes.
I wanted to put plants in the tank and low and behold I got a load of snails, we have quarantined the apple snail.
We have cleaned the tank once but there back.
Please help!

i got 16 neon tetras.and i dont know which is male and wich is female.please help me,and how to breed and take care for the fry.
all of them are in the same tank with all the livebreeder.
and 6 of them are alone in my 10gall and could i put my betta in there?because on youtube i see people put betta with the neon tetras.

I have just found a featherduster under one of my live rocks. It is very small and live in a small white tube. I cannot tell what kind it is because the coloring of the "feather duster" part is very faint. I would say the size of the tube and head in all is about the size of thumbtack. I just wanted to know what i should to maintain it. Do i need to feed it or add calcium or any other supplement? I have very strong lighting in this tank.

I got my crowntail betta and his tail was like a light blue and now when I look at him half of his tail is cler. He is in a 1 gal. bowl with a lily plant.

I have a new fish. He's one of those fat-looking goldfish, but without the bulgy eyes. He's kind of oafish in his movements, but gets kind of excited and playful now and then. What should I name him? Thoughts so far: Bubba, Chunk, Wally, Tubby. Fat, doofy, and playful. That's what I need in the name.

Okay since last night, we noticed two Goldfish in our 10 Gallon tank have been at the bottom side by side and still are NOW but they were also chasing after each other really fast like and I need to know if any of you could help me out here please? I do not know what species my crayfish is, i got her at an oriental store(crayfish sold there is sold for eating) and got the one that looked the most sick, had very dull red, now she has orange bands on tail, red claws , and grey body with thick blue stripe on back. I want to get him even more color, does betta color enhansing pellets work? Im going to get her to breed and i want her to attract a male cray and look good. My sister got on this and got this girl avatar. Im not a girl!
