Believe it or not, Piranha are actually quite timid fish and only do well in a group of at least 6. The oscar is quite aggressive as I'm sure you know and will harrass and attack the piranha every chance he gets. Eventually the oscar will kill the piranha, not the other way around. Now, if you keep the piranha in a group and the osar ever gets sick or injured, even just slightly, then it's all over for the oscar. So either way you look at it, it's not a good idea at all.

Yes, they can live together.

When I set up my aquarium I got three fifty-cent piece sized Piranhas and two small Oscars. They lived peacefully as long as they were all well fed with feeder goldfish.

Oscars are actually more aggressive than the Piranhas. Piranhas are actually timid fish, and are only "aggressive" in groups.

If you add small Piranhas to a tank with large Oscars, the Piranhas will get eaten and vice versa.

I have a feeling you mean a PACU and oscar? Pirahnas are not legal for sale or ownership. Oscars are more aggressive but could also be the victim. They could get along if introduced to the tank at the same time at a young age when small.

Piranha ought to devour each thing in the tank, additionally they opt to be saved in communities and tremendous filtration. Your tank is way too small for a community of piranha. Oscars favor fifty 5 gallons to themselves, seventy 5 being more advantageous powerful. in case you extra the Oscar it ought to first, devour each of the Africans, then ought to die from being in a tank it extremely is too small for it. this may no longer ensue promptly away, yet high quality of life ought to suck, like you living in a closet you entire life. stick with the African cichlids, the tank is in simple terms fairly large sufficient for the quantity that you've. You defiantly opt to substantiate you've strong filtration on the tank, yet you should finally end up having to get rid of a few even as they get enormous. with somewhat of success you've mbuna or you are able to could get rid of more advantageous than some.

are you referring to red bellied piranha or pacu? if yes it depend on how big the tank is the pacu may be a little aggresive but since the are at the same age they should be fine.....my pacu killed 10 of mt goldfish when i place them in a very large pond, the pond contains 2 giant pacus and several carps and it has oscars too and they get along just fine...But the competition for food is a little fierce though, but you don't have to woory about anything just be ready with hospital tank just in case=). feel free to contact me if u have any questions!
