Any other fairly cheap ideas to hold water in a pond. I just want goldfish in the pond, nothing fancy. I want the pond to be about 10ft by 10 ft. Thanks

No, unfortunately you can't. Swimming pool liners contain stabilizers and fungicides that will kill the fish. You can find some quite reasonably priced vinyl liners that are fish safe on the web. They won't last quite as long as rubber liners, but they do have pretty good life spans.

They have prefrabicated liners. I installed my own and it four years old and pretty nice I might say. I have had 2 koi the whole time and 3 goldfish that turned into about 8 now. So i recommend you get koi if you dont want to clean it alot. More fish equal more waste, which mean you have to clean it more often. I will give you my goldfish if you want, I live in North Jersey. lol, laughing but im serious, you want em you can have em. Also, koi are alot better to look at. I would look into using the pool liner, because it may have harmful elements on the surfaces for the fish. one more thing if you think they are expensive now, just wait a few years, i have been pouring money into the pond every year. yes it appeals to the aesthetic but the cost add up every year.

Got to like home depot and get a rubber "tub that you can dig a hole in the ground and drop it in. You can find one for like $20 depending on how big of a pond we are talking about here. Yes, you could use a swimming pool liner but you have to make sure you use neutralizing chemicals in the pond.

Liners are $38 at this site http://www.webbsonline.com/catalog/liner/index.html?OVRAW=fish%20pond%20liners&OVKEY=fish%20pond%20liner&OVMTC=standard&ysmwa=GQhbr3KxjSUuFqUCDWdR9iAOpM2321yl_84FWZS1bqJXK9flKwhjo17yX8482apt

Here are also some cheap ones: http://www.pondsupply.com/flexibleliners.html

And here are some preformed liners: http://www.pondsupply.com/preformedliners.html

you sure can, I made my first large pond with a pool liner
(25 x 10) but, they get rather fragile and brittle and will crack
in time
you can also buy plastic construction liner in rolls in Lowe's or Home Depot (6 mil) thick, it will last 2 or 3 yrs as long as you don't walk on it...for a quick pond I stack landscape timbers or cement blocks (use rebar to stabilize) and install a liner
good luck

yes as long as it has not been cleaned with any chemicals you could also use rubber roof liner or a tarp as long as no chemicals have been used on it
