I would call the place where you got him but my betta's whole body changed color, not just the tail. They said it had to do with the oxtgen level in their system. They told me to keep an eye on him and make sure he was eating. I did this and he is still doing good. Good luck Does the lily plant look healthy?

I'm not so sure that this is a good thing. I know that there are some great things that you could use for this just to see if it works. There are some fungus tablets that you can get at Wal Mart that, I think, are made by Jungle Friends. I'm sure any brand would work, though. They turn the water in the tank a funny color green for a few days, but they have always brought my fish back to great health. You could also try melafix, but I haven't had much success with this.
Even if there is nothing wrong with your fish, these products will not hurt it. They will only make for a healthy beautiful beta.

hmm
is he new to the tank?
how long have you had him?
changed any of his foods?
is the plant taking up most of the space in the bowl?
what is the temperature at ?

I got my 1st beta and he was obviosly ill. He was a bland grayish color with large clear patches in his large fins.

I put him a 2.5g tank and started feeding him Hikari Pellets, after a month his fins filled and his color was nice lavender on his body with a dark red and a cornflower blue blend on his fins. It just took some time for his color to come in after he was so mistreated.

bettas tail will change with mood and water condition. your problem is probally that your tank hasnt cycled yet and the water conditions are not right just give it time and it should go back to normal

your betta fish lacks nutritional requirements and now had probably caught fugus infection and is needed to be tranfer to a cleaner and age water without plants and any dirt materials, ornaments.

i have a betta myself, and it could possibly be mood or certain foods. I have noticed behavior changes along with food changes. It also may be stress-related.

Your fish sgould be fine. Most fish change colors according to their emotions. Their fins are no exception. Mine do that too -in thier real tank. Please gat a bigger one or you'll stunt and kill your fish. For the sake of all fish, please.

he may not have blood going through to his tail. I would ask the place where you got it from...if you can't go ask your local pet store or online.
