Hi I'm going to get a dog/puppy from Romania (Europe) I was wondering if it'll have to be quarentined, have to have shots, and any other things to bring it to America. Any information you know or websites will help! If you went through this, please tell me about it! THANKS!

We have spent $1,000 at the vet, she is 12-1/2 years old and has a far away look in her eyes, and she collapses alot. But I do not have heart to put down. Vet said it was an ear infection, but why wouldn't medicine work?

I found Jody 5 months ago and today she has her first heat, I'm debating right now whether I should get her spayed. It's not monetary issue but I do not trust the vets here. Even my own vet has a bad track record with spaying. The vets here, (I'm not in the states right now but in south east asia) seems a bit unqualified especially when it comes to this kind operation and I'm really not trying to be mean, there are not many vets around here too, only 4 vets for the whole island. I'm really worried bout Jody and I have 3 other male dogs (3 yrs old) who don't seem interested in Jody or any other bitches even though they are in heat. I didn't neutered my male dogs too because of the same risk that is involved and I love them too much to send them to undergo the operation when I don't trust the vets. I've asked around and read the disadvantages of not getting my pets fixed which can lead to health issues when they are older, so right now I'm really torn. Please advice. Thank you.

We have a collie/australian sheperd mix who is about 9 years old. She's a great dog, but she has bad arthritus, and she limps around all the time.
The past few days she wont eat her pills, or much of anything. When you rub her stomach she heaves. We took her to the vet, no heart worms, or any worms, and he gave her a shot. But none of us know what's wrong with her stomach, plus it's bloted. Any help? Anything I can give her that my be of use?

I live in an apartment building and my neighbor has a young dog...
At the beginning of the summer she just got the dog, it was a beautiful white German shep. I would see it outside all of the time for the first month or so...
In the middle of the summer the dog would wake us up in the middle of the night crying and moving it's kennel (they had the dog beside the wall beside our bedroom). The dog started doing this all throughout the day.
Lately I don't hear the dog whine, but I still hear the kennel moving, this leads me to believe that the dog is constantly in the kennel. These people are NEVER home...
I was walking my own dog a few days ago and I saw her walking hers, the dog was covered in urine (I'm assuming, the dog was yellow and brown). There is a horrible smell coming from their apartment nearly every day. I don't know if I should call animal protection or let it go (today our building smells nice), but I still feel bad that to dog is in the kennel so long... What would you do?

my neighbors have 2 dogs that stay outside all the time..1 is a little german shephard/pitbull puppy, hes about..hmm..not even halfway grown yet and his back bone, ribs and everything are showing..his lower back is probably no more bigger around than a water bottle is..iv called the humane society, but the only thing they did was make them get dog houses..but they didnt get dog houses..just a plastic barrel..iv been thinking about maybe stealing the dog and taking him somewhere, like to my brothers, iv tried asking them if they wanted to give the dog away or maybe sell it for 50 dollars..maybe i should raise the price to 100 or something..i dont know what to do, any opinions?

A Neighbor's Dog Attacked A Friend Of Mine As She Was Walking Her Dog. I Rehab Aggressive Dogs For A Living So I Was Able To Back Them Off As They Attacked Her. I Brought The Dogs Back To The Owner Warning Her That I would Call Animal Control If This Happened Again. I Also Ofered To Help Her Train Them. The Dogs Were Loose Again Less Than Three Days Later.

I Had To Report It. I Am Not Sorry. The Only Thing I Regret Is That The Woman Would Not Listen? How Do I Stop Being Frustrated By That?

she is a very responsible girl and i know that she will be a good dog owner but we just cant decide which breed to get. We are planning on going to see the puppies and making sure that it is not a puppymill for those who are concerned. also our oldest child is 14 and loves animals. If you have any suggestions on other cute low grooming maintainance dogs feel free to tell me!

Why Do People Buy Or Adopt Dogs Without Researching The Breed, Having The Dog Evaluated, Knowing Anything About Training, Or Sometimes Even Basic Care?

I Think People Not knowing What They Are Getting Into Adds More Than Anything To The Many Abandoned Dogs In Shelters

My family has had this dog since it was like 2 weeks old. The mommy dog got killed so we fed it ourselves with those little bottles anyhow it is about 2 years old now and it will not let you touch it's paws, it will bite if you try to cut its nails well i noticed that nail curled up and grew into it's paw.
I called the vet and they said they will cut the nail and pull it out but won't that be so painful? Do they numb it?

He was attacked and I took him to the vet, they didn't put a drain in his bites and now it has swollen to almost the size of a baseball. It's filled with liquids and looks horrible, although it doesn't seem to hurt him. I am planning on taking him to the vet in the morning, but I would like to know if this is common, what the vet will do, etc.... THANKS
