Some dogs snore. Does she seem fine and healthy when she's awake?

If you are really worried, bring her to a vet. She's awfully young so don't wait -- if you think she's sick, bring her in right away.

Good luck.

I have been professanaly trained to train and cure dogs and the answer to your question is easy:

Check for these sighns if the sighns if the dog has these sighns then it may be a disease that I expect to be dyspnea. Dyspnea for a dogg is like a high fever for us, (it is not urgent though if it does mach the sighns take it to the vet, if he/she does not have these sighns then it is just heavy breathing and/or snoring make sure to check for these sighns while she's sleeping once a day for 3 days, here are the sighns:

1. difficult, un-smooth rough un-even breathing during sleep.

2.kennel cough (rough, un-usual coughing during sleep.

3. Very constant roll overs during sleep.

4. Not loud but little weeps during sleep.

5. Wakes up easily

6. While awake not eating much avoiding some of the food.

I wouldn't worry because my American pit bull still does it and he is almost a year old I just wake him up when he gets like that.

Well, some dogs snore in their sleep, but oh my goodness why do you have a 5 week old puppy?!? Being away from her siblings and mother so early could cause serious socialization issues later in her life!

if it is only when the dog sleeps, it may be normal. my American bulldog kind of snorts loud when she sleeps. the vet. says it's common in some breeds including yours. :)

Hope this puppy is still with her litter. 5 weeks is too early to remove a puppy from her mother. Puppies who are removed from their litter at this age get sick. Please go to your vet - when puppies get sick, they die quickly.

is she snoring or breathing hard. if snoring.. that's normal. if breathing hard.. if it continues it could show signs of upper respiratory problems.. i suggest taking her to the vet if problem continues.
