If she was in heat she most likely will be and be sure to write down the day she was with him count 63 days this will be her due date but watch her close from day 56 you do not say the breed or the size of the dogs this if she is a small breed and he is a big breed she most likely will need a c-section to give birth where the pups are to big this can cost $1,200 up the really for sure way to tell right now is she will stay swallow her nipples might get a darker pink and she could be off her food a day or two the vet can tell for sure about 3-4 weeks after the tie but if there is a danger to your female like her age weight and not the same breed you can take her to a vet now and get a shot to end it if you wait for the vet 4 weeks they can still go ahead and end it by spaying her The smell is most likely coming from the discharge of her heat cycle Hope this has helped but we really need more information on her

If she is only 3 lbs she is to small to be bred chihuahuas needs to be at least 4 lbs over and she is a bigger breed then them it will be very dangerous for her to try and give birth this small also I'm guess he is at least 10-15 lbs that is a lot bigger I would take her to the vet and get her a shot I would not risk her life and even if you can afford a c-section the pups and her could still die

Was she in season? How long was she away? Is there a chance she may have come into season while she was there? (usually lasts 2-3 weeks). There is not really a pregnancy test for dogs - you'll have to wait longer to find out - watch for signs of her teats getting larger and pink - this is usually the first thing I notice in my dogs, also watch for behavior changes- often females will want more attention & cuddles when they are pregnant. If she smells bad give her a bath - she may have just wet herself in fright & the person looking after her hasn't bothered to clean her up. The best thing would be to have her spayed as soon as possible.

Why in the world would you leave a female who is not spayed with an intact male? You should have known better.

Did the owner see them mate? You need to take her to the vet so they can do an x-ray to see if she is pregnant.

The urine smell could have been from anything- it usually does not occur after breeding so that is not an indication that she mated. Sounds like the lady you left her with wasn't very responsible with your dog and may have left her sitting in her own urine.

If not, get her spayed as soon as possible.

Bad smell doesn't mean she was bred, the urine smell isn't an idication that she was bred. I would suspect that because she stinks, that she was put in a crate or a run and left there while they were babysitting her. Urine smell doesn't not go along w/ being bred.

You have to take her to the vet to find out if she is pregnant. Was she even in heat when they were together? Should have had her spayed and you wouldn't be worrying about this.

1- her stomach would not be big yet,

2- was your dog in heat last week

3- take her to a vet, they may have messed around, but if not in heat, doubt very much if bred..

4- give her a really good bath....

5- you should not put a female and male together, especially if not spayed or neutered.

you would know if she was in heat, there would be bleeding on her part, and she would be licking herself alot, to stay cleaned up, did you notice any of this..if you did, best be ready for a vet visit..

ok to be honest if ur really worries u need to take her in... i remember when my dog was pregnant and i dont really remember her smelling like urine.... was ur dog in heat? if u dont take her to the vet the only way u will know if she is pregnant is to wait it out and ull notice her belly getting bigger and it will get hard. but if u r really worried i would take her in that could be something serious you never know

First of all, this is NOT an emergency. I know you are worried, but sheesh...

Secondly, you should bring her to a vet. He will be able to tell you what is wrong. She might have a urinary tract infection that must be treated.

Thirdly, as soon as you know she's not pregnant, get her spayed. It will provide LOTS of health benefits to her and you won't have to get all hysterical again.

Good luck.
