My family is looking for a good house-dog that we can train easily to go outside when he has to go and won't chew up everything. Please nothing too expensive though! (Like purebreads)

I am posting this for a friend. He can't find anywhere that will rent to people who own pits. It is a friendly little thing. Does anyone know of a website or references he can use to find a place? Looking in the paper hasn't worked for him.
Thanks, please help!

I have an 8 yr old Husky that I have been training with. She does well in heeling, staying, needs work on the stand for exam, figure 8's. On the recall, she will come to me, but NOT as quick as you would think a Husky would. Any ideas on how to get a faster recall from her? She is food/toy motivated.

To be fair to her, this is only her 2nd class and she is still getting used to the sights, sounds of the other dogs/people etc.

We are getting ready to start training classes again and just wanted to improve in this area.

Would like your suggestions

Thanks

They asked me what kind of Dog did you get? I told them it was a Golden Retriever. When I got there the said"what makes you think this is a Golden Retriever"? I told them that is what the sign said in front of the dogs at the pet shop and they told me it was. The vet said this dog is black. It has a brown tung. This is a Chow.
I don't want to return it because I am attached now. I got a book called How to train your Golden Retriever. Should I make a formal complaint? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm an animal control officer, and people often hesitate to call us because they are scared we will put every animal to sleep. Many times people find an animal and wait for days to call us, all the while some family is worried sick and calling us every few hours to see if we've heard anything.

My shelter has an 8% euthanasia rate, thats insanely low. Legally we could call ourselves a No-Kill shleter ( any shelter thats has less than 10% euthanasia rate can) but we don't, cause it would be a lie.
Why do people hesitate, and put animals in greater risk?

We got this 5 week old puppy from some neglectful owners (she has already been separated from her mother) about 5 months ago, and we were told she was half pitbull, half dingo. Which of course we were skeptical of. but now it turns out that they were apparently telling the truth.
Her eyes, face shape and ears are a dead giveaway..

But heres what I am wondering, I know there is a breed called an american dingo, or "carolina dog", and I'm trying to determine wether she is actually a "carolina dog" or really a mix between a pitbull and a dingo..

I just don't believe that anyone would have a real dingo in california, which is where we are.But she does have alot of the facial features of pitbulls.

here are her pics

Also, here I have gathered some pictures of carolina dogs and dingoes.

The first two are carolina dogs and the last 3 australian dingoes.

When she slipped, her head went completely under the water. I think she got water in her ears because she is kind of shaking her head and keeps rubbing at her ears. I have a vet appointment on January 2, and today is the 28. If she did get water in her ears, can she wait that long for a vet appointment?

my very good friend has a 10 year old boxer and she was diagnosed with acute leukemia today. my friend has left to take her to cornell university(several hour drive from here) for further treatment/diagnosis etc etc. my friends dog is her world. she will be........ not good if her dog does not make it. what is the likelyhood of both coming home? she has been showing signs and been having health problems since early july. has been in and out of the vet hospitals in the area at all hours of the day and night with no absolute diagnosis until today.i went to see both on the 25th and sat with them for a few hours. she had gotten home in the morning on the 25th and when i saw them after dinner she was in rough shape, but perked up some when i got there. the other part of my question is what should i do for her if her dog does not come home.

Is there any possible way to help make my dog's breath smell better without doing any inhumane things to him? I know products that are suitable for humans, but would not dare to try it on my dog unless I knew it was safe. Can anyone be nice and help out?

I've seen it in light brown/grey color & grey/blue eyes. Short haired coat, lean & long/tall. I've seen it on a Sesame Street episode where there are a few of them playing around. (I have 2 little grils.... hence the Sesame Street!)

My cousin got a new dog just recently (2 months or so ago) he is small and curly i dont know how old or what kind of dog he is... but he bites SO much! And sometimes it hurts! Realy bad. At first i thought that he was just teathing, but he does it exsessivly...WAY too much to be teathing... we give him chew toys but he tears them up and goes for anything he gan get his dagger-like teeth in! the dog bites everything, especialy humans. Whenever we get bit, we say "No!!" really stern-like, but then he just gets mad and bites you again. Im worried that someones gunna get mawld by the little beast...we love him dearly, but we dont want to stick him in his kennel everytime he bites, he's practically in there half of the day!! Please help- and please dont answer with giving him away or to a dog-training-thing.

Thank You!

I recently adopted a male chihuahua puppy who was being abused and neglected. We have a 1 year old female Chihuahua and Bruno is our first male chi.

He doesnt have an agressive bone in his body but when he marks and we sturly say "NO" he flips on his back and shakes in terror... It is the saddest thing.

We LOVE him already and are greatful for any advice we can get.

should we have an eradication team to patrol all cities to track down and destroy all breeds listed in the dangerous dogs act and any mongrels that are seen. i know its extreme but i would rather see a dog dead than a child killed by one of these dogs.

We have a 5 month old puppy... pit, chow and shar pei.. she is good inside the house, but when she is outside she chews on everything from my plants and pots, to plastic under the barkdust. I have sat outiside with her and scolded her when she does this, and still she does it again. She even chewed off one the sprinkler heads. i have given her rawhide bones, and she snubs them. We keep her inside while we are at work in her kennel. But I cannot be outside with her all the time, we have a 3 year old son, who i have to attend to as well. I have tried to pick up everything outside as well, but she still finds things. How do I get this to stop? Will she grow out of it?

I have been wanting a puppy for years, and my husband rescued one for me from the pound last week. It's been a week, and he wants nothing to do with raising it. He's not a fan of it because he says it's too much work. We both work full time, so now I'm doing everything. He was waking up every other night to take the dog out, but now he's not doing that or anything during the day. We have three cats, which he loves because there's not much you have to do for them. What should I do? I'm totally in love with this dog and don't want to return him, but I also don't want him to just be my dog; I want him to be our dog. What should I do?
