Hi I'm going to get a dog/puppy from Romania (Europe) I was wondering if it'll have to be quarentined, have to have shots, and any other things to bring it to America. Any information you know or websites will help! If you went through this, please tell me about it! THANKS!

I know there's homeless pets in the USA, but I want to get a dog from where i came from! Also, they have nice breeds there! Atleast I'm going to be saving a life and not getting one from a pet store or a BYB!

Yes it will be quarantined. There is also so much that is required when brining a dog from Europe. I would check with the airlines and i believe the agriculture requirements and guidelines. Besides it might be in your best interest to get a dog here in the u.s. because what if there are problems with the pup and or shipping and it is so costly.

Try looking on the net for a breeder of the breed that you are looking for its bound to be available somewhere in the U.S.

"They have nice breeds there?" What breeds do they have that the US doesn't? You are from there? So what? My family was from Europe also.
And what makes you think that the US is the only country with bybs? There are many countries in the world that are even more brutal to their dog population than Americans.
You are either very naive, or very misinformed.
If the dogs in the US aren't good enough, maybe you should be living in Romania.

Dog has to be quarantined ( how long i don't know ). Some countries have home quarantine ( I don't know about America ). Puppy has to be checked in Romania ( veterinary service in Romania has to issue a license for export). I know that much.

The final time I observed some thing like that grew to become right into a puppy we discovered on the line. He had deep wounds on his abdomen and we had to have the vet stitch them up so as that they could heal proper. The vet mentioned he could desire to just about wager that somebody had used that puppy as bait for coaching scuffling with Pit Bulls, and then dumped the puppy to get rid of him. in an attempt to his way of thinking, it may not be something yet canines bites. We accompanied that canines, the injuries healed with the stitches and the antibiotics, and no-one ever harm that canines returned. i might ask your self, has your boxer been tangling with yet another canines?

If it is a live animal coming into the US then it will be quarentined. You can check with the US Department of Agriculture on protocol.

Beware, you could be getting scammed instead. The news this morning was full of stories of people getting scammed trying to get pets from foreign countries. Check out your source.

Not enough good breeds we have to import them now. Good Grief, what next. But it will be quarantined. You will have to speak to it in Romanian though.
