so i fed raw for a little while, and did a lot of research prior to starting.

all i found was a ton of different information going back and forth.

veggies are good, veggies are bad
dont feed this, no its ok.
on and on.

it really wasnt even the fear of bones(if they cant be digested easily, then my pup has got at least 50 pounds of bone lost inside him somewhere)
it seems the only thing people can agree on is that science diet is junk which wasnt news to me.

im not looking for people to post links to pages or quote things from the raw feeding myths page.

i just want to know if anyone else out there was discouraged enough that they just threw in the towel and switched to canidae.(or whatever ever other decent kibble, its really irrelevant.)

Our dog just had a fecal test done and a lot of fat was present.
He is also a little overweight.
What is the best brand for low fat?
Can or dry?
My vet said that Beneful was high in fat content and that is what we were giving him.
Is Ol Roy (Walmart brand) a good choice? I was told that Ol Roy is made by Pedigree brand with just an Ol Roy label on it.
Which do you recommend?
Dry, Wet, what brand?

We have 8 Great Dane puppies. They are almost 7 weeks old. The runt is a female and when she is around my kids she will growl at them. I'm not talking about playing. They will go to pet her and she growls viciously. We don't yell or hit her. My kids are older and I always watch them around the dogs. I have never seen a puppy behave this way.

I've been looking online at Newfoundland puppies (I'm interested in getting one but not in the immediate future) and was wondering if it's possible to breed them with dry mouth (no drooling). A couple breeders I've looked at advertise them but I'm wondering if it's just a scam to get extra money for the puppies.

A pet forum without all the BS found here.

I know its not entirely possible, but at least something would be done about it.

Repeat offenders would be completely banned, and before you could answer question you'd have to take a test about the animal in question.

Yay or Nay, what do you think?

I have a dog that I rescued from a lady who was about to take him to the pound. I thought he was golden retriever/yellow lab mix. According to my vet, the dog is a pure breed golden retriever. Is there a way to obtain proof that my dog is a pure breed? I do not know who the lady was that I got him from (I actually met her in passing at the grocery store and stopped to pet her puppy when she said he was on his way to the pound since the person she was meeting did not show up to take him!), so I have no way of contacting her. He is now 14 months old. If it is possible to get him registered, I would love to do so...he's a beautiful, smart dog and my daughter would like to show him.

My sister's labrador retriever likes to lift his paw, which is rather cute, but does he get pleasure doing it? I can understand why dogs enjoy being scratched but I dont get the paw thing.

They seem like a pretty good mix, poodles don't shed and Golden Retreivers make great dogs, right?
Just wandering if anyone knows anything about them deeper than that, like do they make pretty good dogs?

i have 2 puppies and 2 cats. we're infested with fleas!!! i've tried front line, advantics, baths, sprays, fogged the house, flea collars-but i can't seem to get rid of them! i haven't bathed the cats-mostly because i enjoy having skin on my arms, the cats pretty much stay upstairs and the dogs down. cats are indoor cats. any suggestions about what else we can do? also does a spray "for cats" work on dogs too?
