I saw a man who had tied a dog and was dragging it on the road - in India. He was with a big bunch of people mostly men. They were dragging the dog and beating it with sticks and it was yelping, screaming in a fit. I don't know what was the exact reason except someone told me it had rabies or it was some sort of cult worship and hence they were doing this. I could not do anything. There were so many men, I was alone and the dog was in a dying stage. It was horrendous.

The second was a lone pup on the road. I brought it home and fed it for a week before I organized the blue cross to come get her and keep her. I could not keep afford to keep this pup since we already have one and my dad will not agree. Thankfully they came and took the pup to the shelter and saved her life.

I have even avoided people or spoken to them very harshly on the road for their cruel treatment of cows. They beat them very hard and make them walk for miles and miles with heavy cargo, no water and less food.

My sister in law took her dog out Sunday night . She said the dog looked slightly out of breath on their return home but this is nothing unusual. When she awoke the next morning she found the dog dead in its basket. It had blood coming from its nose and mouth.
She is deeply upset but can not afford the two hundred pound to have a pm done as the dog is only four.
It was slightly over weight but in my opinion as dog owner it was a picrure of health.
Any ideas what it could have died from....

We all know how many people are misinformed out there about dog reproduction. It's scary the types of questions that get asked, and most of the time we just tell these people to get their dogs spayed and neutered.

But, do you think this is sort of like telling all teenagers to practice abstinence? And not giving them the facts about sex, pregnancy and parenting?

Because, maybe it would help these people breed more responsibly if they knew what they were getting into. You know how they show the video of the woman giving birth and it scares a lot of kids into waiting to have sex? Maybe we need to show videos of dogs having stillborn puppies, and all the other horrific things that can happen?

I dunno if I'm going nuts or what but Advantage and FrontLine Plus for dogs aren't effectively keeping the fleas from jumping on my dogs. What do you use to keep the fleas from your dogs and does it wash off after a bath; how effective has it been for you?

I found out yesterday that my recently acquired red nose pit has parvo. It has been around my neighbors pit who has already been vaccinated for parvo. Can my neighbors pit still catch the parvo virus from my pup?

Our home has been infested with fleas. I didn't want to call an exterminator just yet because i hear that they just make them not reproduce. Will I have any luck with the fogger?

We recently adopted a greyhound (ex-racer) and had her for 3 weeks now. So far, she has been a real lady, minding her manners and coming around with affectionate behavior. We have a Cairn terrier and 2 cats. We still keep a soft muzzle on her when the other pets around just in case since she is new to everything and we want to make sure she is small pet friendly (she was tested by the organization as being that). Whenever the cats come into the room, she perks her ears up, wags her tail and whimpers and will occasionally swat at our Cairn terrier’s behind when he gets rowdy. I can’t tell if this is being playful or nervous/scared behavior. She has responded well to the word “no” when she gets too nosy with the Cairn terrier and the cats, but she looks alert enough to chase. It sounded like she was clicking her teeth last night when she spotted the cat. Does anyone know what this means? I know she wants to smell the cats for inspection, but I am still nervous. Thanks.

My Chocolate lab just had 1/4 golden Ret. 3/4 Lab puppies. 7 to be exact. I'm afraid that she isn't producing enough milk to feed all of them as there are 3 pups that continuously cry... all the time. My husband doesn't think we need to take them to the vet but I think we should. Maybe it would be helpful to our lab if all the puppies were well fed and gave her a break, she is warn out and has not slept at all in 3 days. Should I go to the vet and get some bottles and supplements?

Sadly, I have a family member with a puppy that has been diagnosed with Parvo. I know the routine on cleaning hard surfaces and taking care of the yard, but what I want to ask is what to use for the carpets and furniture. Is there anything available that will properly disinfect these things without using bleach, which could ruin the carpet (they are in a rental house)?

Hoping to get some good info to pass on to them and help them get thru this. Thanx.

Just wondering your opinions on this matter. We own a 5 year old Wired Haired Pointing Griffon (a pointer dog).
My mom usually feeds him 2 cup fulls a day of his food. I keep telling her that 1 cup is plenty for him. Plus he's over weight.
What do you all think? Is it good to feed him 2 cup fulls a day (not at once...at two different times during the day...when he wants it), or just one cup full in the morning?
Thanks!!

My dog is close to twelve months and ever since he was born he slept inside the house. He hates staying outside by himself but now that my grandparents are moving in he has to go outside. During the night he barks loudly for the majority of the night. What can i do to make him be comfortable?

He is a maltese x shi tzu if that makes any difference...

My dog, Max, is a American Bulldog, full breed. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old. He was the runt of the litter. And at almost 3 years old, he only weighs 90-95 lbs. How do I get him to put on some weight, he should be in the 100-120 range. I feed him, and I've taken him to the vet, he's healthy. He just doesn't seem to want to gain more weight.
Thanks!
(I have a female, and she's in her average weight area)

So about 2 days ago I noticed this thing on my dogs cheek, at first I thought it was mud but when I went to wipe it off it didn't come off. It is grayish mud colored and sticks out a little like a tiny round ball (like the size of the "o" button the keyboard, but a little smaller). I'm really worried about it because now the left side of his face (the side it is on) it all puff and it is making his eye all red and squinty because it's pretty close to it. He has been itching it too. Any ideas on what it is?

You see I only cook for my dogs, like Liver is there favorite and Chicken is there next and i sometimes cook beef cheeks and beef toung for them and every so often i make a whole pot roast. These things they love very much, but now my youngest just had puppys and she is a puppy her self. Anyhow the vet told me today that i could not feed her that type of food anymore, only puppychow from now on. And i said what will she eat meanwhile, cause she does not like caned dog food. She said she'll eat it when she gets hungry. My gosh shes breast feeding all these lil pups isent this a bad time to ween her off of anything with all these 7 pups waiting to be feed. What a bad choice of things to do for her right now especially, what do you think? All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks chow**

However, I have three dogs and a cat. I can't afford those top brands. Yet, flea control I've bought from Hartz and Sargents haven't worked at all. Are there any other flea control products out there that work just as well as the popular brands without the elevated price tag?
