It really depends on if you got him to the vet in time. They need to go in as soon as you notice symptoms. A friends dog was at the vet for a week, but he did make it. Harley went in as soon as he started to vomit.
As GotNewfs said this could have been prevented if he was UTD on shots.
Only your vet can tell you what his chances are, but I will be praying for you both.

The Cure For PARVO!!! If your dog has PARVO, this is how you get rid of it. Buy some Clorox. Take the cap of the top and fill it to the rim with clorox. Put it in a cup. Then take to caps full of water and add it to the clorox. Stir it up. Take a surenge without the needle, and fill it up with the fluid. Open your dogs mouth, and shoot the liquid down the dogs throat. In a hour, do it again. If the dogs body takes the clorox, it will kill the parvo and the dog will live. But some dogs are to weak to live. And in some cases they will die. But if the dog has parvo, you should do this. You have about a 90% chance that the dog will live. I have only lost 2 dogs to parvo from using this technique. I have saved about a dozen of my own dogs, and about three that belonged to other people. I will always use this technique with my dogs, because I know that it works. About a month ago, my grandmas new puppy got parvo, and she was a couple a breaths away from death. (no lie) My mother went to my grandmas house, and gave the puppy a dose of this. The next day, this puppy who had not walked or ate in the late 3 days. Was running! Clorox is really a miricle cure. And it can work. And you cant go wrong by using it. There is no cure given by vets for parvo. If you ask a vet, they will tell you that you dog will die. I am telling you that your dog still has a chance. Please try this. If something goes wrong, dont blame it on this technique. It means that your dog would not have made it anyways. If it works, please contact me and let me know. I hope that I could help. God bless you! luceroydaniela@yahoo.com

I had a few puppys that got parvo. Two of them died but the other one I am happy to say is almost eight years old now. He was at the vet for a week before he was good enough to come home. Maybe, hopefully the same is happening for your puppy and she will be fine. Call your vet as often as you can to get updates on her, don't give up hope, but remember that parvo is a tricky disease and anything is possible until she is cured of it. Also make sure to bleach your yard because parvo sticks around for a long time, and get rid of your puppys toys and bedding. Good luck.

well you have given your puppy the best chance to survive, by getting it straight to the vet, well done. Unfortunately Parvo is not easy to beat, I hope with all my heart your puppy pulls through.
If it doesn't make it there are some things you should know.
Do NOT get a new puppy and keep it in the same place, Parvo can live dormant in the ground for about 4 years, you would be better off getting a dog that is about a year old and fully vaccinated.
I'm sorry to say this now why your baby is sick, but I have seen people lose more than 1 puppy to Parvo before they are informed of this.
If your puppy does survive, which my fingers are crossed and I hope he does, Get rid of his bedding and toys and start fresh.
Good luck and I hope all goes well and you don't need my advise

your puppy is in the best hands possible. if any one can save it it's the vet. but and not to be mean or anything you need to prepare for the worst case. if your puppy was very healthy before and you caught it at the very begining it has a good chance. i myself have treated a puppy through parvo. and i've also lost one to parvo. good luck and i wish you and your puppy the very best and i hope you get lots of years to love your puppy. sorry just an additional note i was reading some of the other answers and the person who said that if you vaccinate they won't get it we have a vet here that says he's seen a lot of dogs who are fully vacinated come down with parvo. before you bring your puppy home and or bring in another dog do get rid of all the old things that the puppy used but you also need to use bleach water out in the yard to kill any parvo out there and if possible use bleach water in the house to kill any parvo there also. be careful about taking your puppy where other dogs may do their duties but the biggest way it is carried is by flies landing on infected droppings and then landing in your pets food ect. again good luck.

The vaccine is to prevent parvo it DOES NOT cure parvo, only a series of fluids will help a dog get over parvo, intravenous fluids, I'm sorry but there is no prescription or magic pill you can give a puppy to rid them of parvo, if your dog has parvo only a vets care will hopefully save him, most die a painful death if not treated. As for intestinal worms you need a prescription from the vet, OTC wormers do not work. If you cannot afford to properly care for your puppy please sign him over to the vets and let them find him a home that can afford proper medical care. I'm sorry but it's illegal to not provide a sick dog with medical care.

it all depends on how quickly they caught it. What does your vet say? Does he/she think your dog will make it through? Most dogs who contact parvo die, there are a few who make it but most do pass because it is a horrible disease.
If you have any other dogs you will need to clean your house thouroughly. Ask the vet what their reccomendations are because if she does make it (and usually if they do they fight it for months) you will need to make sure she does not get it again from your home. If not and you eventually decide to get a new puppy the new dog can catch it. So please clean thouroughly and when you feel you have scrubbed enough, scrub again.
I am so sorry about your staffy. I hope it turns out for her, I really do

What is so sad is that Parvo is totally preventable. A few simple vaccines and she would not have had it in the first place.
Being that she is 6 months, she has a better shot than a younger pup, but there is still a chance she will die.
If she does, DO NOT get another puppy unless it vaccinated!!! You have Parvo in your environment!!!
And in the future, VACCINATE!!!!!!

What you are going thru is no fun I know. My Dane had it but THANK god we caught it in time, she was at the vet's for 4 days and then got to come home. Call the vet today and she how she is doing.
Also my Dane had the first set of vaccinations, (she caught it in between shots) but you must make sure they get them all one will not prevent it. Good Luck!!

Parvo is very unlikely to survive. It's really not cured- the symptoms are just minimized. Recovery can take months, if it happens at all. I'm sorry for you and your puppy. You'll be in my prayers.
