Yes, a dog can breed with one of its own puppies. A mother can become pregnant by her son. The previous poster was mistaken about the dog not getting pregnant. She WILL get pregnant. Breeders sometimes use inbreeding and line breeding to reinforce good traits in their dogs. Problems can arise without very careful planning and a strong knowledge of the dogs because it will also reinforce bad traits. It's not a good idea. It's always best to spay your female dogs. They will be healthier and happer, and you will not be contributing to the pet over-population problem.

Yes they will mate. Dogs don't care if they are related or not. If a female is in heat any male even her son will try to get to her. If he is old enough they will produce puppies. The pups can come out with birth defects or other problems cause by inbreeding. Keep them separated or get them fixed.

Yes, if the puppy is old enough, but advise not to do so. Inbreeding causes a lot of health problems on the puppies. My husband saw a puppy from a father-daughter breeding, the puppy has a hole on the skull. If you love your dogs, do not perform any inbreeding.

They can mate and the mother can get pregnant. the resulting puppies will have mental and physical defects from to many matching chromosomes! It is not good so spay/neuter your pets or get rid of the puppy before it is old enough to mate!

First the puppy would need to be OLD enough but NEVER let this happen. Its called inbreeding and the puppies will come out with problems

Absolutely yes. A dog doesn't discriminate against its own relatives as far as mating goes! When a female dog is in heat, just about any male dog, related to her or not, will go through a lot to get to her.

Physically yes but that's a very bad idea. It messes up the future puppies. I'm not clear on how, talk to vet, but it definently should not happen.

Yes, but it is inbreeding. The pups might double up on the good traits but they would double up on the bad traits too including any recessive health issues.

after the pup is mature enough, yes... and you should do everything to keep this from happening. its bad enough we have too many pups in the world for people to take care of, let alone inbred ones.
