I don't blame her! What is he thinking? The fleas are driving her mad!

***********************

Remove all living beings from house

Fleabomb your house (takes about an hour, maybe two)

Return and open windows and air house well for at least 2 hrs

Vacumn carpeting/rugs & any furniture that pets will be on

Sweep floors (remember, pets are closer to the ground than you so are more at risk from chemicals)

Remove all flea collars (if any) from pet

Put "Advantage" on pet (usually on the back between shoulder blades)

Observe pet for any adverse reactions, but most pets will be OK

*******************************

The above is the only method that worked for us. We sprayed and sprayed and used flea collars (useless) but the flea infestation only got worse. The flea bomb will kill the infestation in your premises. The "Advantage" will not only kill the fleas on your dog but also break their breeding cycle so more do not occur.

Your father is foolish, cruel and immature. You can purchase the fleabomb for approx. $15. You should be able to earn that much money, even with babysitting or mowing lawns or something. The "Advantage" is more expensive, about $36 a dose but well worth it. Or once you fleabomb your house, you can try to buy a little flea comb at any pet store and try combing them out of your pet's fur. Be sure and dump the fleas into a little container of soapy water or they'll just get away and breed more fleas. The Advantage is the best way to go, but I understand if your father is too cheap. As a kid, there's little you can do to put common sense into an adult.

Good luck!

Not even a flea collar treats fleas - but this isn't even a flea collar!

Fleas are not hard to treat. You don't even have to take the dog to a vet, you just go in and buy some Frontline over the counter. It's a spot-on that you put on the skin on the back of the dog's neck, and then she's protected against fleas for 2 months.

If your Dad realised how easy and relatively cheap it is to sort this problem out, maybe he would take some action to relieve the dog's discomfort. But I have to think you've got bigger problems ahead; what's he planning to do if/when the dog ever becomes ill, or gets injured?

If your Dad's cheap, he's likely to get suckered into buying the cheapo stuff from stores. Don't let him, because it doesn't work.

what kind of a collar is it if it isnt a flea collar? is it an e-collar?sorry, but the only things that really work for fleas also cost money. i would do some research on flea preventatives, like frontline and advantage (the pros and cons, etc) and present it to him. if you act more adult, he might take it seriously. until then let him know that the fleas are everywhere by now, including his bed

if u get an allowance, why don't u get the flea collar $5.00, I'm having flea problems 2. Get some brewer yeast pills my 2 dogs love them, let dog lay on back and pick the fleas off. Get a bowl of water or cider vinegar near u so u can drown them, IMO

This time of year is bad for sand fleas. As it get colder they look for a warm body to live off of. You can do two things- buy some flea shampoo and give her a bath or take in to groomer and ask for a flea dip. Do it soon..... You don't want to infest the house.

you dont need to see a vet for fleas. pick up some flea medication from a local store or online (i've always had good luck with frontline). leaving your dog with fleas qualifies as neglect!!! think of how you would feel if you had horrible itchy bugs biting you all the time

Although their are several flea medications on the market I use Front Line on my crew.
It is a once a month preventative and works well.
Just apply it between their shoulder blades by working it on to the skin.
Good Luck

try giving the dog a bath, then stand where the fleas attact your dog, wear shorts, and kill every flea that jumps on your leg and as time goes on they will all be dead.
