Ever since my sister got a kitten my dog always hides behind me and whimpers and the kitten takes advantage of this by taking his toys away.

I have a ten year old rotwieller. He's in perfect health just old. He has no hip problems, no arthiritis problems, nothing just all the normall things that go with being an old man like his teeth are a bit run down, the puppy energy only shows it's self ever once in a while things like that. He has a grey beard and some grey hairs on the back of his neck around his collar. The grey hairs around his collar are not on his neck they are on his back. Understand? Not good with words. There are also stray grey hairs here and there on him too.
My question is will he ever turn all the way grey and how long will that take? Is it possible or will he be gone before that could ever happen? Just currious is all.

My husband and I have a 4 or so month old male pittbull. We've had him since he was able to be taken from mama. Been having a hard time getting him to let us know he has to go potty. We've tried everything. He only lets us know SOMETIMES and he pees in his kennel and lays in it. Can someone help me figure out how to get him to go potty outside?

My poochie (pit bull) has been sick since last night. She started throwing up last night and has been eating a lot of grass, we have to drag her inside because all she wants to do is eat grass. And today she started throwing up mucousy blood or blood w/ grass. She hasn't eaten anything but grass since yesturday afternoon and we keep a very close eye on her and havn't seen her eat anything she shouldn't. today she pooed once and it was dark almost black and grassy. she is 1 1/2 years old. She eats purina dog chow. she's going to the vet tomorrow. but what could this be??

Before I spend $300 at the emergency vet, which I don't have, can someone tell me if they have experienced this. My Boston Terrier got into a bag of soft creamy candy - like kisses but not chocolate - white and pink and green things. She probably ate a pound of them. Now she is drinking water and vomiting. She has vomited 8 times. I figure it's good to let her drink and vomit, it is getting it out of her system. Otherwise, in between vomiting, she seems ok. What do you think?

When I adopted this dog the owner said it was a full bred something I dont remember, I was drunk. BUt he does not look like a full breed anything to me...He looks like a terrier of some sort. He is about 14 pounds and full grown.

I noticed today that my yellow lab's behind looks red and irritated. It's an area a couple inches across. She doesn't seem bothered by it. What could it be, and should I call the vet?

I see many people on here asking about breeding their pets. Take a walk thru a shelter's "death row" one day. yep they all started out as cute adorable puppies. Next take a walk down the surgery aisle and look at all the poor guys that are so very sick, with a disease or illness that could have been prevented by a simple surgery.
Now go look in the classifieds to see how many people have reported a lost dog compared to those who found one.

Please save your dog's and many more lives by spending that money. It really is simple, your pet will live longer, and be a better pet for it. The need to have babies is a human's need not a dogs. They reproduce by instinct not desire.

The only dogs that should be bred, are purebreds and only if they can better the breed.

Want a puppy? go to a shelter and get one, that pup needs a home more than the next door neighbour needs money, that animals life depends on where you get your next dog!!

Ok I am stepping off my soap box now.

When my female dog goes into heat, how should I deal with it?
I obviously have to keep her away from males, but do you cover a female with a "doggy diaper" or is that not necessary?

My dog had puppies almost 4 weeks ago...she apparently drank some water that had lysol or murphy's oil mixed in it. She got sick a couple times but is back to normal and now all 9 of her puppies are puking and very lethargic. Is there anything I can do to help the puppies? I'm afraid they are going to die.

It squirted out the sides of the tip of applicator, instead of the normal way. It appers that alot of the medicine got on his fur instead of on his skin. Will this treatment be effective or should I re-apply? If I should re apply should I do so right away or should I wait. I don't want to waste the medicine or overdose my dog.

My dog is 8 months old he will not eat. I've tried every possible dog food there is, I've tried wet and dry food. The vet tells me to mix it together which I do, that dosent work. I put food down when it's time to eat I leave it there for 1/2 hour. But he waits for table food I do not want to give him table food or train him on that.

we have had fleas in our house for a few months now, trying to get rid of them. my dogs have around 10 fleas on them everyday. one day, though, i got home and was petting my chi deuce and i noticed nothing out of the ordinary. then i saw a couple black spots on him (fleas) and took him into the bathroom to pick them off. he is a small dog, so if he has fleas, you can pretty much find them all in a couple of minutes. i picked the ones that i saw off, and as i kept going through his fur, there were more and more. eventually the fleas started falling off of him there were so many. i had to put him into the bathtub just so there werent fleas all over my floor. i got about 150 to 200 total off of him. my question is where did they all come from. its like they appeared out of thin air, and if there had been that many on him to start with, i would have noticed, because like i said, he is a chi. its like he had 10 fleas, and within 2 minutes they multiplied into 100. how is this possible?

I am so sick of my dogs behavior lately, his potty training is really digresing (im guessing because its fall, and everyone is back to school/work/etc) SO! I've decided to break down, and begin crate training. Because nothing else seems to work. I really really need some step by step help. What to do, where to do it, when to do it. Etc. Please help!

My dog is a ten month old schnoodle. I know.. he should be perfectly trained by now. =/
