I noticed today that my yellow lab's behind looks red and irritated. It's an area a couple inches across. She doesn't seem bothered by it. What could it be, and should I call the vet?

Keep an eye on her. If you catch her dragging her bottom along the Ground, take her to the Vet. She might have Worms.

Take your dog to the vet. We cannot make an accurate diagnosis as we cannot see the issue.
