Do you mean that he is always lethargic and always has diarrhea? This (as you know) is not normal and the dog obviously is unwell. How long has this been going on for? I hope you have taken it to the vet!!
If this has been going on for a while it is possible that there is a digestive disorder or abnormality involved. My neighbour's dog with pancreatic enzyme insufficiency has those symptoms from certain foods and if he hasn't had his medication. PLEASE get this poor dog checked by a vet.
These links have some great information on feeding dogs the best diets for optimum health.

We don't know, we're not vets, we haven't seen your dog and you've barely given any detail. 'Lazy' and 'diarrhoea' could each have a zillion causes.
If you're worried about a pet, that's what vets are there for. All you'll get on here is wild guesses that will probably just serve to make you paranoid - or hopefully, people giving you the correct answer which is TAKE THE DOG TO THE VET IF YOU'RE WORRIED.

Step #1 is to test for intestinal parasites - various kinds of worms or others such as coccidia or giardia. If you eliminate all that, and the dog still has diarrhea, you start looking for allergies and food senstivities. After that, you start thinking about various diseases of the gut and digestive system. So you need to take the dog to the vet and start testing for parasites.

do you mean schnauzer? and has the dog been wormed ever? Worms are common and cause diarrhea and lethargy (laying around).
