these r the dogs that u r afraid of. these r the innocent lives that were taken. these r the dogs that no one is willing to give a chance. the only crime they ever commited was loving their owners. so i just want to know. what do u think of the breed after u watch this video. look at what us humans do to them. they trust us. they love us. they obey us. and yet some stupid people dont give that back in return. here u go.

I've already talked to the vet about this. I'm just wondering if any of you have dealt with this. I've had 4 other dogs and they have never had problems with the rabies shot. Details- Took our 4 mo old puppy on the 11th to get her last set of shots which included the rabies shot. She was fine. Wednesday, the 19th me and my husband found a lump on her. It doesn't hurt her, we just wanted to get it checked out.So yesterday, I took her to the vet. They said it was a bad reaction from the rabies shot. To put heat compress on her and such. They said not every dog has problems and some lumps pop up at different times and stay for different times. Of course, they said if it changed at all, to come back. Like I said, this is the first dog I've had that had a reaction to the shot. What are your experiences with this?

Okay, so I have a miniature schnauzer, for those of you who have them, you know they are very vocal and opinionated dogs. His name is Maverick and when I am home he is very well behaved, aside from having seperation anxiety (he loves his mama)...I also have a cocker spaniel, but nothing seems to bother her...anyway we have a neighbor who has reported us for having them off the leash in the front yard (we live in an apartment) but they are used to having a backyard and have difficulty pottying when leashed. They do not bother people, approach other dogs or anything of the sort...there are also several other residents around us who have dogs that they leave off the leash, but she chose to report me. Anyway, no I come home and she had put a post-it on my door that says, "Invest in a shock-collar, your dogs are barking for hours when you are gone"...now this is a gross exageration. Maverick barks when he sees other dogs outside, but otherwise he never barks...

I recently saw a dog at the local animal shelter and his information simply said terrier. He resembles very much a border terrier (shorter hair, wiry) but he is much larger and solid gray except for his white 'beard'. What do you think he could be?

Is he checking to see if everyone is accounted for, or is he scouting territories? Or what? What is he doing? What are possibilities of things he may be doing?

Hello. My mother's dog is afraid of thunderstorms and lightening. In regards to the lightening, he is even afraid when we get out a camera and the flash is used! For all of these fears, he starts to shake uncontrollably and wants to either hide or stay right by your side.
It's so sad to watch....
We live in Florida, so thunderstorms are not something we can get away from!
I hear that you aren't supposed to soothe them by petting them because it will teach them that what they're doing is the right thing? But, I can't stand to NOT touch him or pet him while he's shaking....
HELP!!!!
Thanks :)

I adopted a 3 month old puppy about 2 weeks ago. She was already paper trained. At first she rarely went anywhere else in my house than on her pad. Now it seems like she's starting to go on the carpet in other rooms of my house. She still goes on her pad too. It's like a half and half thing. What could make her start to un-housebreak herself? How do I get her back on track?

My dog, newly named "Houdini", keeps getting out of his wire crate....he's about 14 pounds so I doubt he fits through the holes. When I get home all the doors in the crate are still locked but he is running-at-large around the house...Does anyone have a dog that does this? I've heard of them unlocking the cage door themselves, but unless he gets out, turns around, and re-locks the door, I don't know.

I know this is probably a silly question, but we have all hard wood flooring except for a few rugs, and our 2 older dogs are housetrained, but if we leave them alone for too long they do have accidents. Then our puppy we are working on. I am just wondering, why dogs poop on the carpet. Out of all the hard floor we have, they choose our rugs. Why??? I am so tired of dragging them outside (the rugs of course.. lol) and cleaning them because they choose little rugs over regular floor.

I was sent this earlier today. It made my day.
q: do you think this would be a good way to screen calls?:)

Body: Hello, You have reached 123-4567, Tender Hearts

Press 1 if you think we are veterinarians and want free medical advice.

Press 2 if you know we are a rescue organization but want to save money and have us give you free, untrained medical advice anyway.

Press 3 if you make $200,000 a year but still want us to pay to spay the "stray" in your yard (house).

Press 4 if you have a 10-year-old dog and your 15-year-old son has suddenly become allergic and you need to find the dog a new home right away.

Press 5 if you have three dogs, had a baby and want to get rid of your dogs because you are the only person in the world to have a baby and dogs at the same time.

I read somewhere that it was okay to use pampers baby wipes, which i have been using but they're not helping. My vet mentioned special wipes, but they are kind of expensive and I just figured that it was the same as the pampers baby wipes. Anyone have any experience or suggestions? I would like to be able to stop his itching. thanks.

I`ve obviously checked out web sites etc. but nothing beats first hand knowledge. Everything says they are very friendly, loving dogs............but I have heard they hate being left. I don`t plan to leave it often, but I doubt they`ll let me take it round Tesco`s! What are they really like? I`ve had a German Shepherd and a flat coat retriever before. Are they much different. Any Advice very welcome.

This was prompted by someone asking if a Pit Bull was OK for someone who had never had a dog berore.
All the answers were that a Pit was not for a first time dog. They said you had to be an experinced dog person to get a Pit. Not for a first time dog.
I want to know where you get this experience. Is it having a Rat Terrier or a Beagle? Maybe it should be having a German Shepard, which I know from experience is harder to train then a Pit?
I think that everyone is so full of it. A Pit is a very lovable and sweet dog that anyone will not have any trouble raising.
What so you Pit people think?

Today as I was bringing our dog (male puppy -- cocker spaniel mix) in from outside, he got loose and urinated on my wife's new carpet. I screamed "no" but it was too late. I grabbed him and threw him in his kennel. About 15 minutes later he started yelping. I put a bark collar on, but that didn't fully work. He kept yelping. We live in an apartment. When we're walking outside and he sees other dogs, he starts barking loudly and going wild. He acts like he wants to attack these other dogs (some much larger than he is). My wife says I shouldn't hurt him--he doesn't know any better. But it's very embarrassing! The thing won't behave. I swear sometimes I want to thrust a knife into its skin and seriously HARM this animal! [Am I not cut out to be around dogs?] My wife would freak out if I asked her give the dog away--she loves him--so I'm kind of stuck. Any advice ?
