It's a tricyclic antidepressant.
They give prozac to dogs for various behavior problems, so why not a tricyclic? It'll probably just put him to sleep. (No, not kill him. Make him sleepy.)
If your dog has problem behaviors, it's more likely to be the owner than the dog that is at fault. Instead of drugging the dog, consider taking some Klonopin, yourself, and spending a lot more time playing toss with the dog.

No, but if the barking is due to anxiety, I suppose it would help. I believe anxiety is the main use of clomipramine in dogs.

this is stressful. yet i might say you will in all probability purely ought to smile and bear it. I hate it whilst any of my pals' canines start to bark or howl, via fact it normally instruments off the different dogs interior the community. And meaning a minimum of half-hour of unbridled racket. Come to think of of it, am i able to borrow your gun as quickly as you have dealt with the priority?

no,not for barking.
my vet gave it to my staffie to calm her down during training exercises though.
it is usually used for separation anxiety.
i did not like how it affected her so i discontinued the use of it.
she would get VERY hyper for the first hour or so after taking it then get extremely lethargic the rest of the day.
she weighs 57 lbs.and the dosage was 75milligrams.
hope this helps you.
