I live in a small townhouse complex. My dog and my neighbor's dog both looooove to eat our grass outside. They act like little cows!

Why do dogs eat grass? Is this grass esp. tasty, perhaps?

We use the litter for the cat boxes (helps ALOT) w/ the smell. But my dog loves to go hunting for kitty brownies when ever he thinks i'm not looking. What worries me is that he also likes to sneak and eat the paper litter. I'm just scared that the litter is geting stuck in him and may hurt him if it builds up. Should I be worried?

My mom and I were bathing our dog today, and as we wet her fur, I realized that she had a lump a little larger than a walnut on her right side. My mom saw it as well, and she touched it. She said it didn’t feel completely hard; it was more like..mmm…gooey or something like that, yet it maintained it’s shape.

The lump moved around with touch; it wasn’t stationary.

The lump seems to be in between her ribs and her skin. My dog didn’t seem to be in pain, and she does not seem to be sick.

Does anyone have any idea what the lump can be? Has anyone had any similar experience?

Thanks,
Oscar W.

I have a miniature schnauzer who has skin issues. I switched her from Science Diet to another brand which I actually like very much (Dick Van Patten's Potato and Fish). And, gave her carrots instead of regular treats. So, I have been giving her baby carrots as treats - she has been licking nonstop on her legs and feet. I stopped giving here the carrots and she has almost stopped licking all together. I don't know if it's becasue of the carrots but that's the only thing I stopped giving her and now she's not licking. Does anyone know if the carrots could have been the culprit? We've always used carrots as treats with our other dogs because they're healthy. Just curious...

Have answered many questions but this is my first "asking".
There is a poem from a dogs view after living his life, and he is speaking to his human friend. It's different than most dealing with pet loss poems. Some of the lines go something like this: "I now sleep outside your window because I can no longer be with you". "My paws are still and no longer run". "It's ok to miss me but keep a place open in your heart....and soon a new friend will come along that you will love as much as you loved me." It's bittersweet and I can't find it anywhere. Hope someone will recognize some of the words and title of the poem. Thanks everyone! Glen

My dog is 4 years old and was AKC registered as soon as I got him. I've gotten a few pieces of mail from them from time to time, but today I got a new certificate from this America's Pet Registry, Inc. What is it? And is my dog still registered with AKC? Did it expire or something?

No matter HOW nice and sweet you think they are, they can turn on you. They can be vicious.
Many of you think "stupid/irresponsible owners" should be outlawed but responsible owners shouldn't, but accidents happen. I have had a few freinds get attacked... both are alive thankfully. If it is illegal for one man, be it for all. We are all equal.
They CAN be trained to fight. People WILL do just that. They can be aggressive.
So really, be honest: What do you think?

The first one is more flashy, http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x285/Jexa1984/plain-1.jpg. The second is more plain, http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x285/Jexa1984/flashy-1.jpg. Which one do you think looks more like the ideal boxer? (I am also going to factor in personality, but I haven't met them yet)

My lhasa apso's feces were nomal. Then suddenly one day, my dog poops yellow, very soft feces. Occasionally liquidy-ish. Then these few days, my dog poops yellow hard poops. We haven't given him anything unusal food that we don't usually give him. We give Canidae dry food. Just yesterday we gave him a cooked bone(really big one so he won't choke). Any reason why the unusal feces?
