my good neighbour's daughter has owned a jack russell since it was 3 months. it is now 1.5 yrs old. she has taken care of the dog by herself with her mother helping with some payments of food etc. she took it to the vet for its first three shots which she paid most of and she worms it every 3 months and gives it heartworm tablets. she take it for a walk immediately after school as she has to leave it in a crate while she's at school. she trained it to obey her and her biggest success was training her dog to come to her. she has also taught him cute tricks to perform. her mother has full-time work and cannot do much to help out. she takes it to the park every weekend for an hour or more and feeds it everyday, plays with it and gives it attention. yet she can still fit in homework time, her own time, tv time and school. AND THIS GIRL IS ONLY 14!!
her mother was telling me this yesterday and i found it remarkable that such a young girl could demonstrate such responsiblity. how about u?

My head is not with it today, I think i just gave my dog too many pills! I gave her nightly dose twice! The pills are Joint Care by Hartz. I gave her 4 in the past 4 hours. My dog is about 75lbs. The active ingredients are Glucosamine Hydrochloride(shellfish source) 500mg and Manganese 8.6mg and Vitamin E 5IU.

She has an appointment for the VET already scheduled for her torn ACL tomorrow at 6pm.

My pomeranian weighs 5-6 lbs. and is four years old. She has never been bred before and this would be her only breeding. The male we would like to breed her with is a cockapoo around 5 years old and weighs approximately 18 lbs. Does anyone know is this would be safe for her? I'm worried the puppies may be too large.

My bf has a small dog. Whenever we have sex, she jumps on the bed and tries to lick one of us. then he gets up and puts her in another room. I think it's gross. She also barks all the time if he is not paying her attention and doesn't listen to him unless he has food in his hand. He seems to reinforce her bad behavior by giving her food when she is barking. Sometimes instead of cuddling with me while watching a movie he lets his dog sit on his lap and pets her. He also lets her sleep in his bed at night and talks to her like he talks to me, "gorgeous, baby, etc." When he is affectionate towards me, the dog gets upset so she starts barking at me and scratching. Is all this normal? What should I do about this?

Her ears were always straight up and now one of them is always bent and the other one is standing up. Could there be something wrong. I know it doesn't hurt her because I tried rubbing her bent ear.

I have spoken to the neighbour several times, has done nothing about it. I have requested he pick it up, he says later. I leave it there for 4 and 5 days, then I pick it up. I have a dog and I pick up after her, so I am not a dog hater.
I have been tempted to do some dreadful things.

my mom's boyfriend has a problem with her beloved dogs that keep producing litters. in indonesia it isnt common to sterilize dogs and operation is sumthing bad.

allright so i told her she has to sterilize her dog otherwise it will keep producing litters. ( she cant separate the dogs due some condition, hormonal injection has been done but there are times she forget and the dogs make litters)
so i accompany her, I pick the vet, I pay the cost and I took the dog to the vet.

then i leave the town the next day because i got job somewhereelse.

after operation the dog hit the door and hurt her leg and drag it.
one week after, the operation wound heal, the leg is swollen and ..you know it produce the oozing white liquid coming out from it. the vet who operate iher says its okay, it will heal in 1 week.

just a week after the vet says so, the dog died.
then my bf contact other vet ( seems he lost trust w the 1st vet) and the 2nd vet says the dog is died from

I was walking on my way to school today, & these people had the front door open, & their dog saw me walking & started running & barking, & I was minding my own business. The dog was on his way to attack me, but a car hit him & kept going, & he also kept going but ran the other way, & the dog owners were so upset. I think the dog ran away.

We were wondering if the sleeping was because of her going into heat?... is there anything we can do for her? or anything poms do before heat so we can be ready? we dont want to breed her, we want to actually get her fixed after this cycle. Is that ok?

I adopted my buddy about 6 years ago from the SPCA. The other day I noticed that he had lost one of his bottom teeth and that one on the top was loose and some on the bottom. He's still young I would like to think!! We don't have a lot of money to spend at the vet so I hope it's not too serious....WHAT COULD IT BE?

My friend has a little female beagle dog. She's a pretty small little doggy. one day my friend told me her dog(Opal) wanted puppies rele badly because she had a "faulse pregnancy." there's this really big german sheperd dog that lives on their street and my friend was afraid that Opal would try to have puppies with it. She says the puppies would be too big for her stomach because the dog was a german sheperd. if a little beagle and a german sheperd did have puppies, the mom being the beagle, would the puppies be too big for the mom's stomach and hurt her? i don't think so but my friend does, sooo i'm just curious.

She barks, growls, twists around in your arms if she's being held... and it's making my sister crazy (especially when they go camping and other dogs pass by). Any tips on how to get her to stop being psycho-dog?

My cat is used to dogs, and my 3month old puppy and her have been nipping at each other. my cat can get to a safe area of the house, but she stays around the puppy and continues this "game".They chase each other too. The cat has her claws but she hasn't used them on the puppy. I guess they're playing? Should I allow this?

I have a 7 mo old Great Dane who is perfect in the house while we are home, and a nightmare while we are gone. We come home from work and he has rolled in his poo, peed all over, etc. We always make sure he goes before we leave. His crate is tall enough for him to stand in, but not to move around much. It seems as though he doesn't care about being dirty, which is odd. Anybody got any ideas? My husband and I are really frustrated, because we know he can hold it.
