Dogs - August 2007

My dog had puppies two weeks ago and she got ran over yesterday; now I am left with all nine of her beautiful puppies. I have no idea what to do with thm; I have been feeding them puppies milk but it is so hard to feed 9 puppies. Should I take them to a rescue group or what?

Is anyone else afraid that with all the breed banning going on, eventually all we will be allowed to have are small dogs?
Not to bash small dogs, but I personally like big dogs, and I am afraid that my right to own one will be taken away.
What do you think?

my 3 year old dog has been pukin at least once a day for about a week. is it possible he has a stomach bug? did he eat something wrong? is he going to be ok? someone help!!! This morning he vomited on my bed on a blanket, and i searched it and there was a huge chunk that looked like chiken and grean beans, but they were whole so im confused...

I have a 7 month old Pitbull for the last 3 to 4 day he has been throwing up and won't eat he drinks water off and on. He just lays around the house and throw's up aleast twice a day. I'm so scared. I took him to the vet and he was test for parvo the test came back negative he has all of his shots except the last one which he is suppose to get next week. I just want my KING puppy to feel better can someone please help. PLEASE

with all the insurance problems, breed bans etc. how do vets deal with the government/insurance co's/landlords asking them to sign off that a mixed dog has no pit, rottie etc in it?

I know it's very individual but do people on here know vets who either:
A) Use their discretion, if they think the dog is not dangerous or has very minimal x breed lineage and just sign even though they think the dog COULD have x in it?
B) Refuse to sign even though they know the dog isn't dangerous because it could be like 1/20th pittie, rottie etc?

Just curious as the question with the staffie mix not being a 'pitbull' mix a few ?'s back.

Curious because if it ever came down to it- could I find a vet to sign saying my 21lb beagle mix has no rottie in it despite the colours etc? All this stuff is soo crazy. I hate that vets are being put in this position (lie or the dog may die, have to be muzzled the rest of it's life etc).

He always gets a tablespoon of cottage cheese and ground dog food in the morning. We leave him food through out the day but he hardly eats it. We tried 3 different foods, he likes them for a few weeks but then he doesn't like them anymore.

When a pitbull attacks someone and it hits the news, the media always show pictures of a raging Pitt, snarling and foaming at the mouth etc. Do they make good pets, or are Pittbulls like that ?
