Like okay...
At dinner time.. My mom might cook chicken, pasta, and green beans. She serves everyone in our family, and then gets out two bowls [the ones WE eat out of!] and fills them up to the top with the EXACT same thing that we eat!! She will put the bowls on the ground and let our two dogs chow down!

[One of our dogs is 4, and the other is only 9 months old.]

My mom is spoiling our dogs. They won't even eat their dog food anymore, because they are addicted to human food!
Oh and everynight, my dad gives them about a spoonfull of peanut butter.

It is getting out of control. Our four year old dog is getting really fat. They get exercise, but this food is completley unhealthy for dogs, and im sure can kill them down the road.

I've tried telling my parents. My dad is kind of on my side, but he isn't really in charge of what my mom feeds them, so it doesnt matter. But how can I stop my mom from feeding them OUR food!? And how can I get our dogs to eat THEIR food?!
Thanks in advance

My grandmaw has a pomeranian and BRAGS about it 24/7!

The dog is SO SPOILED! Its not aloud to be put in a kennel, and has killed 3 cats, crippled one cat so it can't walk, and HATES little kids, bites them all the time!

My grandmaw loves the dog, and I'd never want to permanently hurt it. But whenever I talk about getting a dog she laughs and says "my pomeranian will whoop it" it whoops cha-wa-wa's all the time so please dont say that. This dog is evil! If you get within 5 feet of it while it's eating it tries to bite you, so PLEASE give me an idea of a dog I could get that would just "teach it a lesson". So if I bring it out my grandmaws, I don't have to worry about it getting killed.

My boston terrier is 5 years old and for the last 4 or 5 months she's had little spells of heavy panting and shaking. she doesnt lose consciousness, is obviously still "with us", no foaming at the mouth, urination, def, etc... so why is she doing this? It doesn't quite match up to epilepsy...

Dog is in heat. Dog has been bred. Dog will die if she carries pups to term. What options are there? Herbal, hormonal, chemical, surgical? Thanks,

I'm going to go to my local Humane Society tomorrow and adopt a dog, and am looking forward to adding him/her to the family! But, I already have a 3.5 month old lab puppy, and I want to make sure that the puppy and the dog I get will like each other. What can I do to make sure that I don't bring home a dog that my existing puppy hates? I really want her to have a doggie friend, she's very social with other dogs and doesn't get to play with them enough right now (I'm hoping new dog can maybe be a playmate for her!)

My humane society doesn't have a home visit, only a suitable owner application that is all on paper, fyi.

We have a 2 year old Lab and are looking to adopt a second dog. Any good breeds? Must be good with Babies! Smart!

We are looking for a dog that has a good sense- meaning a good guard dog, but is good with babies/kids.

A medium sized dog would be better than a small dog.

Thanks!

Our American Bulldog seemed to be in pain the last 2 days, acting funny, and i noticed it had trouble sitting down and her behind looked swollen. I also noticed her pen has been SPOTLESS the last 2 days!... We put 2 and 2 together and have determined she CAN'T go to the washroom. My parents are afraid a vet bill will be too much to afford right now, although we are taking her first thing in the morning. But I was wondering if anyone here could help me or the dog? Is there ANYTHING we can do?

I have paid a 300 dollar down payment for a yorkie puppy and will pay the remaining 300 on delivery. He was supposed to be available around July 18th or so, at about 12 weeks old.
I
have bought my previous dog from these people, and he will be driven in from the next state.
On the 18th they emailed me to say that they were going on vacation and would email me when they returned on the 30th. Well, I ended up emailing them on the 2nd to ask what was up. They said that they would (likely) be having someone drive them here on the weekend of the eleventh. This is almost three weeks since the expected date.
Another member of their extended family has a litter of ready Yorkies here in the next town, they all work together and drive the puppies back and forth. They cost a bit more, but will be younger when I get them. I am afraid this puppy that is 'supposed' to be coming will already have habits and memories of these people, when I want to be his first memory.
What would you do?

I'm looking to get a dog from a Humane Society but they first have to come to my house and see if it's suitable. It's like I'm adopting a child not a dog. I understand why they do it but do they all do it? This is the first time I've ever heard of anything like it.

Hi I posted a topic last night about my dog being scratched by a coyote. I took him to the vet and we found a puncture wound on his back. The vet gave him vaccines for Rabies and Distemper. He said that if it's reported in 24 hours the dog will be ok. I'm worried since I heard somewhere that once a dog is infected there is no turning back. It's also supposedly not possible to check for rabies in a dog. Is this true?

I have a sheltie and jack russel mix. He has the personality of a sheltie at first then once he gets to know you he is pure jack russel. He has medium legnth hair (1inch long).
What i would like to know is if there is a certain time when these breeds shred worse . He is shedding something fierce right now and i dont know if it is something like skin condition or if this is normal for the breeds. I know all dog shed but i am able to pull clumps of hair out...not to the point where he is bald but still.

Is there any hope that this is only a summer time thing??

Surgery was to deepen the groove in the bone to allow the knee cap to fit properly - had this done on Tuesday. He has swelling of the upper leg and is not really too enthuastic about anything - owner is deeply concerned about how long recovery will be and if anyone has a pet with this type of surgery could tell me of how well their pet recovered. Concerned if we did the right thing by having the surgery done. Vet assures all is okay - but would really like to hear from people who have gone through this with their pet.

I know very little about dogs. Is this a full German Shepherd or is she mixed with something else? She is about 2 and 1/2 months and so cute. Here is the link. Thanks.

I have 2 female dogs and one male. The male is a neutered boxer, he was neutered very young. He has always peed like a girl dog. Just recently he started peeing on bushes like he is trying to "mark" things. Yesterday he lifted up his leg like a boy! I was so pround of him hahahah, silly but ya. I am wondering why it has taken him so long to pee like a male dog? Im thinking its cuz we had our friends male dog over who wasn't neutered and marked stuff in the yard.
