I have a yorkshire terrier which is somewhat similar to a dachshund so i think i can help. Usually when they eat grass or leaves they have a upset stomach. When they do eat grass or leaves somehow it helps calm their stomach.

She may need a better dog food. Some cheap brands don't have enough veggies, or the wrong type for dog nutrition. Call the vet and ask for recommendations (free advise). Get 3 or 4 brand names. If it's not diet, she may be curious or bored.

Sometimes this is due to a definciency and sometimes just to aide in digestion. Ethier way try to ensure she does not eat the grass as it may have insecticides or other hazardous chemicals that will make her sick!

Winnie is ok let her eat it just not to much and eventually she will throw up what ever is making her stomach upset and also limit her on how much food she eats the best thing to do is put it up when you go to bed so she doesn't eat all night

What type of dog food are you feeding her?? it usually means that they are not finding enough nutrients on her food. Or it could be that she just has and upset stomach.
