I have 2 females. They are the best dogs I've ever had.

I work nights so about 2a.m. I take my dog( AmStaff) for a walk in the park. I have for years.
This morning we were confronted by a German Shepard that growled at me or us for that matter.
We tried to avoid him,but he attempted to corner us and my dog became protective, grabbed him by the neck,shook him like a dog toy and pinned him.
Next thing I know there is a Police officer, gun drawn threatening to shoot my dog.
It turns out the shepard was a K-9 officer sent into the park to search for a burglary suspect.
I spent the night in jail, my dog is still at Animal Controll and we are being charged with assaulting the K-9 officer who agressed on us.
And YES! Pluto was on a leash the whole time.

Will the charges stick?

OK SO HERE THE DEAL WE RESCUED A PREGNANT MUTT 9 MONTHS AGO SHE WAS PREGNANT AND WE TOOK HER AND HER PUPPIES IN AND GOT HER SPAID AND FOUND HOMES FOR ALL THE PUPPIES! WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS DOG (SASHA) AND SHE IS THE NICEST DOG WE COULD EVER ASK FOR AND THE GREATEST!!! ANYWAY BEFORE WE GOT THE FENCE PUT UP WE HAD HER TIED UP FOR LIKE 5 MIN AND I WAS STANDING OUT SIDE WITH HER SHE JUST NEEDED TO GO POTTY. THEN ARE NIEBORS WHO LIVE ACROSS THE STREET DIDNT SEE ME STANDING THERE AND THEY CUT ACROSS MY YARD KICKING AT MY DOG AND YELLING AT HER CAUSE SHE WAS BARKING AT THEM. THEN THEY SAY THE DOG BIT THEM AND SHE WAS ON OUR PROPERTY AND SHE NEVER BIT THEM I WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME THERE WAS NOT BITE MARKS AND THE COP DIDNT BELIVE THEM. THESE PEOPLE ARE DRUGIES AND THE OTHER NIGHT SOEMONE WAS SHOT AT THERE HOUSE SO THAT PROVES THEY ARE JUST LOSERS. AND LAST YEAR WE ADOPTED A SHEPHERD FORM THE SHELTER AND SHE BROKE OUT AND DID BIT SOMEONE AND THEY THINK ITS THE SAME DOG. HOLD ON THERES MOR

I have been procrastinating on this for two years and my vet has told me that the benefits outweigh the risks. I'm just so nervous b/c I've heard the horror stories. She has been under anesthesia before, just not for a few years (she is 7 and has Addison's Disease that is under control).

Our three and eleven year old love our puppy, but he keeps jumping on them, and nibbling their fingers/whatever he can find. He never hurts the kids, but the three year old screams at him, which not only wakes people up (ME!) but does not help at all.

He's only nine weeks old, but their has to be something I can do? He's a border collie/collie mix.

My little 10 lbs dog is in pain. Sometimes when I pick him up he will yelp or when he is walking he will yelp. This started yesterday afternoon. The best guess I can come up with is that he may have jumped of the couch and hurt himself or while he was playing with my other 30lbs dog.

My wife and I checked him and we can not find anything wrong but he yelps intermittently when we touch him, but if we do the same thing again he does not yelp.

Any ideas?

Or tell them to look it up for themselves? Some people are relying too much on the answers they get here. How do they know who is telling the good advice from the bad? I see some really BAD advice being given. How will they know if they dont research it?

My female dog got stuck with a male dog around June 15. They got stuck twice. Well her estimated due date is the 18th of this month. The only thing is she has only gotten slightly bigger and she's been producing milk for the past month. Could it be a false preg.? Or is she just different from other females? When I look at other pregnant females they are usually blown up my now! She is 9 days away from her due date and she doesn't even look pregnant! Please Help!

I have a an 18 month old male (neutered) mini wired haired dachshund. He's a lovely dog and we're keen to get another from the same breed. What we're unsure of is should we aim to get a female or would he get along with another male. He has plenty of dog friends and there doens't seem to be a problem with males but we're worried that there maybe rivalry to be top dog once you have two in the same home.

I have a male maltese who pees everywhere even on plastic bags. He has also started getting gross by pooping on my kids beds or anywhere in their rooms. He cost us the security deposit at the house we rented, now we just brought a house and he is peeing here. He is pretty healthy but had a $1000 stomach blockage surgery 3 years ago. He is a rescue we found him in the park, someone had thrown him away in a trash bag hence his name Hefty. Please help I am the only one who wants to keep him.

my dog got sick for about a week really high fever, very lethargic,no appetite. Had no diarrhea, no vomiting. she was having a hard time getting up and looked really stiff. took her to specialist did all kinds of tests and came back with what she called as mediated immune disease affecting her joints.
now my dog seems fine and back to normal. the vet still wants to put her on prednisone just in case but i feel like that may be more harmful to her especially if what she had was just a really bad bug and I have read quite a bit about prednisone that scares me. i dont want it to do more harm than good or to give her something that she may not even need.

I have just given my 10 wk old cavalier king charles spaniel some warm, not cold, milk. She drank it and she has spewed up a little bit and is shivering uncontrolably and crying. She has milk everyday the same temp, shes always ok. What is going on?

My friend is getting a bbay pitbull (yes they are legal here) and needs to come up with a name. He liked the name diesel, but he had already given the name to his sister to use for her dog. They were born June 24th. We arent giving them away just yet, they are eating regular food and everything, well we put water in it and they seem to be doing fine, but I was just wondering, what can I do to be sure they are going to a good home? I love all of them soooo much, I wish I could keep them all lol. and YES my dog is going to be fixed soon so please dont say anything about that its getting pretty old. We are already planning on charging 10 dollars because we hand fed them and it was REALLY expensive, considering she had 9 puppies, but we are sending a bad of purina puppy chow with each one of them also, just to get them started. What else can we do?
