I got a Great Dane a few months ago and she is vet checked and very healthy so I know it's not physical, but she needs more meat on her bones. How do I get her to fatten up some? I feed her Pedigree and have tried other foods, but nothing works. I hated changing her food, but had to try what I could. Any tips?

my dogs were miding there own biz in there fenced in backyard and the neighbot kids were kicking my fence and they made a hole in my fence so the dogs could stick there heads out NOT FIT THROUGH though and they would throw sticks at out dogs. anyway the mom of the kids saw my my dogs head sticking out and she called the cops saying my dogs head was in there backyard and the mom knows are dogs wont hurt a fly so she doesnt have to worry about that. then we got a ticked at dog at large!!! for out dog sticking there head throught the fenced just looking at them. then we got the boardings all nailed up and i caught the kids doing it again. so i told them if they ever to it again i will call the cops on THEM. wouldnt this make you made for your dogs head poking his head through and you get a large ticket at large!!!

This may be a stupid question....but does my puppy know that he is full? Hes 6wks old, and feed him the exact amount the vet told us and hes on a schedule, but he licks the plate CLEAN and then sits there and cries for about 20 minutes as if he wants more....I dont give him more
but Im just wondering if he really is still hungry or if it just takes him a while to realize that he is indeed actually full.

thanks

so me and my brother were walking our dogs in a large grassy area, and since no one was around, they were off the leash. they are aproximately 3 months and have had all there shots, so they were good. so this lady and her daughter and there shitzu, suddenly appear (our fault, i guess we werent paying attention as well as we thought) and one of our dogs ran exteremly fast to her, and stood in front of her (she doesnt jump thank gosh, but she is a hound dog, herding dog mix, so she is way faster than my 10 year old brother who was playing with her) so the lady, picks up her dog and screams get away, i suppose if she was scared???? thogh milly isnt scary looking. idk. but then the lady starts screaming and muttering about how they arent pure breds at us, (my brother had already retrieved his dog very quicly, she knows come) the daughter was on the other side with me, asking what my dog was, if it was friendly ect. but like looking at me weird when i told her it was.

Hey everyone... we just got these cute little 7 week old puppies and I don't know how to protect them from all the mosquito's, fleas & ticks. I went to the petstore to get some over the counter stuff... but all that says to "Not use on puppies younger than 12 weeks old"... so now what do I or can I do?
Does anybody has any advice on that ?
I am here in the South of Ga, where it's allways so humid & hot and a lot of mosquito's & nads etc. Thank you for your answers!
Have a nice Night/Day : )

I was taking a nap and then got woken up because I heard my dog making some wierd noise out back, I got up and looked and he was standing over one of my other dogs sneezing over and over! I brought him inside and he just kept doing it, he would kinda lift his head when he sneezed. In about 5-10 minutes I got him calmed down and gave him some water (he drank a TON) and he stopped but started again when he tried to play! it stopped when i calmed him again. Im REALLY worried about a foxtail... but there is NO blood and he isnt putting his head to the ground... Please HELP! I do not want to spend 400$ at the vet to be told he got dirt in his nose...

I have a very serious question so please no smart answers. My dog had some puppies bout a week and a half ago. Well only 3 of them lived so we are doing everything to try and keep them alive. The mother is very weak so we have been letting her go run around at night for about 30 minutes while the puppies sleep. We decided to start bottle feeding the puppies(with goat milk) tonight and when my fiance and I left to go into the kitchen to get the bottles my uncle came in drunk. He went and picked up one of the puppies and gave it some beer. He was about a cap full. Anyways my fiance walked in and bout beat the you know what out of him. My question is do you think that the puppy will be ok, if not what do you think I need to do. Please help me. thanks.

We have a 9-month-old puppy and we think he has Kennel Cough. We are not completely sure how he may have come in contact with it but he fits all the symptoms. The list of symptoms he has shown (yesterday and today) are: constant sneezing, coughing, gagging, retching (trying to vomit) and a small amount of foam expelled after coughing. These seem to come in spells that only last a few seconds (except for the sneezing which is through out the day). Once the spell is over he goes back to normal activity. He is still eating, drinking and playing as usual. He does seem to be sleeping more then he normally does though.
We are going to call our vet in the morning and see what their opinion is but we are wondering what the treatment will be.
So, if anyone has ever had a puppy or adult dog that was diagnosed with Kennel Cough, could you please detail what the treatment was? I am just curious what he will be in for when we visit the vet's office.
Thanks in advance.

We have a beagle that we got 2 months ago. Starting last Saturday after he was out of his cage in the morning, he went outside and started running around sniffing the ground, grunting and braying. He has been doing this for the past 4 days. He eats little, does all his business inside the house, does not come when we call him, doesn't play with our other dog any more. HELP!
