Yes I would be very upset. It says alot about the mother. That's why the kids act the way they act! It might cost a bit, but I had the same problem and ended up getting a stockade fence on the side that I shared with that neighbor. it was the only thing that helped, but I always watched my dogs while they were outside so that I could make sure the kids weren't hurting them. It's sad, but if those kids hurt your dogs and then the dogs defend themselves, the dogs are going to be the ones that are punished. I have been there and I hope it works out. Luckily, I was able to move.

I agree with all the above. Definately call the cops to get a report when they damage the fence. Hey, set up a camera if you can afford to to show these kids in action. How old are the kids who are doing this? I wouldn't have warned the kids, just call the cops. I would hate to see you lose your dogs over kids who have no respect for someones property or animals. Parents sound like jerks too.

I would consider taking your neighbor to small claims court for the damage to your fence. I would also contest the ticket. I would also contact the local SPCA to see what options you have for reporting this behavior.
This is ugly, unacceptable behavior. Your neighbor's out of control kids are well on their way to becoming abusive adults.
I would also make sure never to leave the dogs in the backyard by themselves. If you are able to move away from your neighbors, I would. No good comes from people like this.

You really don't have any option but fight it. Not only that people picking at dogs like that is what makes them get mean.
You best bet it to file a complaint against the lady and her kids for trespassing and destruction of private property along with legal action against the directly to make them pay for the damages.
Look it is self defense. Those kids are going to keep it up until your dogs have had enought and bites one of them. See it happen almostly exactly the same way before.
So you need to sorry worrying about being the nice guy in this situation and protect yourself and your dogs.
You need to establish a record of them tearing up your fence and harassing your dogs.
Also if you have a camcorder of some kind be sure and film them doing it everytime you see them doing it. If not a camcorder get a camera and when you see them start taking pictures of them doing it. That is visual proof that can be used in defense of you and your dogs if one of the kids gets nipped by your dogs. It is also visual proof when you file a complaint and charges against them and take them to court to pay for the damages.
Now get this in your mind good: The way you worded your question gives me an uneasy feeling that the lady is just itching for one of your dogs to bite one of her kids so she can sue you. Bet she thinks your parents have a lot of monery of a lot of insurance.
That is what makes you needing to act in your own self defense and get it on record wiih either a video recording or pictures and a lot of pictures.
But a dog just having his head stuck through the fence is hardly a dog running loose like you got the ticket for.
Reason for pictures is if you get judge who doesn't like dogs and is inclined to side with the lady and her kids. With pictures he or she can not very well do that.
Hope that helps. Just protect yourself that is the key. Like I said I get the uneasy feeling she is just waiting to file a law suit against you. Or anyone else for that matter.
I won't evern worry about whether it makes her mad or not cause from the sounds of it she isn't friends with you to start with.

I would be furious! They intentionally destroyed your property. I would file a police report and take them to small claims/conciliation court. I would also fight the ticket. Your dogs were NOT at large.
Keep records of your neighbors behavior and any future damage. If you have a video camera, get it on video if you can.
Your neighbors are trailer trash troublemakers and please don't leave your dogs unattended. They sound like the type to possibly poison or abuse your dogs.

dang, I'd be furious, I'd have probably been yelling at the mother for not watching her kids, and if I caught them doing it at all I probably would've called to prove my dog wasn't a threat, dogs can be put down for that sort of thing especially if they claim they were bitten.
I'd be really mad
