Hey everyone... we just got these cute little 7 week old puppies and I don't know how to protect them from all the mosquito's, fleas & ticks. I went to the petstore to get some over the counter stuff... but all that says to "Not use on puppies younger than 12 weeks old"... so now what do I or can I do?
Does anybody has any advice on that ?
I am here in the South of Ga, where it's allways so humid & hot and a lot of mosquito's & nads etc. Thank you for your answers!
Have a nice Night/Day : )

I forgot to add... I don't keep the puppies outside all day... it is too hot for that.. only for them to go potty. So they're mostly inside.

if they are 7 weeks old, i'd try to keep them in the house, away from the elements(especially this southern heat) let them out to potty, and contact my vet, to get them on a regiment of shots. ask the vet, for his advice, for the fleas, mosquitos. you are a great person for caring for small animals, most people wouldnt be as concerned, and thats sad!! good luck!!! i think all of us are rooting for you!!!!

well we live out on a ranch with out 10 huskies (we breed) and so we have to worry about this stuff all the time. There is something a petsmart you can find at the shampoo area its smells really good too. its a certain spay that is just for ticks, fleas, mosquito's etc. Just try to look for it there i am sure all the petstore have them.

Did you lather it up somewhat properly and circulate away it on for quarter-hour? that would desire to have accomplished the trick. i'd call despite vet you will use and ask for concepts. i think of 7 weeks it nonetheless too little for Frontline. i've got self assurance like I "rescued" my puppy too. She became into living in an identical situations. additionally why did they launch the puppy at 7 weeks? it would be with its mom and muddle friends til between 8-12 weeks of age.

Spray a light coat of kid bug repellent on them. If skin irritation happens discontinue use. Also I've heard of garlic working. But the best preventative is keeping them indoors and only letting them out to go potty.

Make sure to go to the vet and set up a vaccination routine if you haven't already.

Please don't buy anything over the counter. I used to work for a vet and I can't tell you how many animals came to us that had a reaction to over the counter flea products. You can use advantage and I think you can use advantix and revolution. Ask your vet he will know for sure.

NEVER use over the counter stuff.
They cause seizures, burns, and can kill even adult dogs.
They make little kids sick too.

Use only medicine from the vet.

my friend who swears by this feeds them a little bit of garlic in their food (has 2 dogs and 3 cats none of which have this problem anymore)
