Rottweilers are the BEST breed of dog. My baby boy is only one years old and I could not ask for a smarter, more well behaved dog. They are so easy to teach new things to. I taught my rottie to turn on and off the lights and when I say bug he will hunt down the little critters in the house and eat them lol. Check out pics of my pup on my 360. I want to see pictures of your girls!

I don't own, but I personally know 3 Rottweilers who are certified therapy dogs. All very sweet, all very well behaved.
However, there are many poorly bred Rottweilers out there that I would not consider a wonderful example of the breed.

I think they're fantastic dogs, when I was looking at training some larger dogs for Service Dog work I seriously looked at them. Sadly, I decided that the image was too difficult to overcome and the handicapped people my dogs serve simply do not need the extra grief from people who are ignorant.
They are not a breed for everyone, but then, no breed is.

I think they are a great breed for the right person. A friend of mine had a wonderful one but she put a lot of training into her dog. My mother-in-law treated hers like a child with no discipline and he was totally out of control. They can be very stubborn challenging dogs and they need training because they like to run the show if they think they can get away with it, plus they are big and strong so they can push their weight around if someone doesn't make the rules. I don't recommend them for first-time dog owners for that reason.

Rottweillers can be wonderful dogs when they are well breed and well socialized.
They can also be terrible dogs when they are not bred with temperment as a consideration, and do no receive the socilization and training they need.

I think every breed is equally good to others, big to big and little to little that is. I think the dog itself is wonderful. I have 2 Newfies and they are magnificent dogs, but I know not all of them are as wonderful. But yes, I think Rottweilers are wonderful dogs, if they are not the type that attack you.

Rotties if trained good are really smart and great dogs. I happen to also love Golden retrievers. We have 2 boys......I feel the same way....... They are the Best dogs. Have you found that after a rough day they can really brighten your day?

I do. I have never kept Rottweilers, because I don't have the space to. But they are such beautiful dogs, with such great personalities. Their amazing loyalty has too often caused them to be misconstrued as mad bloodthirsty killers.

I love them. I used to baby-sit for a family who had a monster (in size) of a rottie. After the kids went to bed I used to sit on the floor doing school work and the lug would just jump in my lap and curl up. So cute.

they are a very good breed if trained right but sometimes i don't think they know their own strength, they are normally very sweet and friendly. (when i was young my neighbors had 3 and i went over to play but the dogs wanted me to play and i was on the slide but they scratched my back all up trying to get me to play)
