LOVE my baby Sophie. She is such a great dog. Boxers are loyal and loving and have such great personality. Who can get past that "kidney bean" dance they do everytime they get excited? And the "snaggle tooth" face when they smile at you and a tooth sticks out of their mouths. I've has boxers in my family since I was six months old and can't think of a better family dog. How about you?

I have a 55-60 pound beagle/lab mix (as you can see in my picture). We were trimming his nails last night and he jerked one of his front paws and unfortunately we cut one nail way to short. It bled a lot and we put a paper towel over it for a while, it seemed to bleed a lot, but it stopped and he seemed fine. He licked his paw for quite some time, but other than that he seems fine. Should I be worried, and what should I do if this happens again?

My chiuahuah(sp?) recently had 6 puppies less than 48 hours ago and although it's difficult to get her to, she breast feeds. But ever since the birth, she has been more sluggish than usual and her stomach/breast area is HOT like she has a fever, but the rest of her is normal temp, and she's hardly eating. She ate a little this morning but not like she usually does. She's NOT vomiting and she had dirreah(sp?) but it is clearing up. We have a vet appointment in the morning but I'm kinda scared because I don't wanna wake up to see her dead or something. So, is this normal behavior for a dog after giving birth or should we be really worried?

Hi, I've narrowed my choices down to these breeds, I have children ages 3-7, it will be indoor/outdoor, have a big house, small to midsize yard. I will probably get one at a shelter/rescue group next month or so. Collie, Lab, Beagle, Pug, Bos. terrier, golden, or Britt. or English spaniel ? Thanks!

Hey guys - they caught the pos that set a dog on fire in L.I. in July (see site for more details. His name is Derick Pharnord, and I for one hope that he gets just what he deserves. Unfortunately i dont think our judicial system will do the same to him that he did to that poor dog.

I have a 1-year-old female Shih tzu and she is in her first heat. For the past week or so, she has become very destructive and aggressive. I was wondering if this could be the cause or if she is just becoming a little troublemaker. My other dog, a male Shih tzu, was never destructive like this one. I'll come home and find things ripped or chewed up, including magazines, CDs, anything she can get her little paws on.

Someone told my mom that you could feed dogs animal crackers as a treat. Is that true? She wants to know if it is ok before she gives it to them. Thank you so much!

Here's a pic of my 12 week old puppy Charlie. His mom is a black lab/basset mix, and he looks nothing like her. People seem to be convinced that his dad must have been shepherd, rottweiler, or doberman... what do you think? He came from the shelter and I also adopted his mom, and that's why I don't know what breed his father was.

My puppy is a female 10.5 weeks old German Shepherd. Wenever i play with her outside she always bites my ankle or pull on my pants. How can i stop this? I tried holding her muzzle for about 10 seconds and she ended up wantting to bite me even more and barked at me. I put her in the cage for a good 2 to 10 mintues and it doesent work either. I yelp just like a puppy in pain and she didn't get it. The only way i get her off my ankle is by holding the neck the top of the neck just how mothers carry there puppy and she would let go, but would bark at me again. I know my puppy is teething, but she needs to know that biting my ankle is not good. I walk my puppy and i also throw ball sometimes, but she doesen't really know how to play fetch. When she bites me i give her a toy, but after awhile she loses interest in the toy and comes to me. What should i do? Is there any fun activity like games i can do with her? BESt answer please!

I am going to be moving back to school and have two small dogs with me and two roommates. My dogs are excellent about going in their crates while I am gone and not making a peep while others are in the house. One of my roommates offered to help take them out a few days a week because she said she has no class except for Tuesdays and Thursdays. The only thing is....I don't want them to cry each time someone comes into the door. I want them to think that well, if my mom isn't coming to get me then I will just sleep until she comes home. I am afraid that if my other roommate starts helping they will get used to that and start to whine/cry once they are crated and she is still in the apartment. I apologize if this makes no sense, but I have worked very hard to have my dogs not cry or whine while people are home and I am not. They won't be alone for more than 6 hours at a time. Am I just worried for no reason or should I allow her to help?
