They left this mourning and they already fed her and I think she has been sick for a while.

I took her for a walk this mourning and she kept going into the "number 2" position. Very frequently. I took a close look at the spot where she didn't appear to do business and there was blood trickling down the grass. I think she is bleeding when she urinates. She is an adult dog about six years old, spayed, female, golden retreiver and little overweight. She doesn't get very good excersise ethier. Her stool this mourning was also very watery and discolored. She is fed Purina dry and wet food. Every morning they fill her food bowl to the top with dry food and give her an entire can of wet food. (the bigger size) Thats for the day.

What do you think could be wrong? Thank you for your help.

Someone on here keeps talking about keeping dogs in captivity. How does everyone feel about this? How would your dog do in the wild?

My dog could probably catch his own food, but might easily get hit by cars if he was anywhere developed as he has a one track-mind- squirrels! bunnies! He also is a bit of a wimp and gets dominated by every dog in the dog park. This could mean death in the wild.

I believe the dog is now a domesticated animal and most could not survive in the wild. Anyone else's opinions? I would particulary like scubapair's opinion and an explanation of why he feels that way.

okay first off don't give me this lecture on not to breed. We raise and breed siberian huskies they are champion show dogs with a great pedigree and there hips (ofa) are tested, eyes, elbows,ETC. anyway one of our females has come into heat the male we want to breed her with is with a different owner so we go there alot the first time we brought her over there the male was VERY intrested but the female would not do anything yet so we decided to wait 2 days we brought her back then the male was NOT even intrested she is still bleeding. do you know why the male is not intrested any more we had never had the problem before

Sorry - the vet is closed today and i have to wait until monday. I just got a puppy last nite from a reputatble breeder. She is 14 weeks old and had a little spunk yesterday - last nite and today are a different story. She spent 3 hours in the back of a truck coming to me and then he had her out sitting in the grass until i got there - maybe an hour as they made better time than i did. She has been listless as all get out - mind you it was proabably about 103 yesterday in the car she was in - in the way back where i assume there was little ac. She is eating, drinking and going "potty" (both 1&2) outside but is just listless - she just is sleeping a lot - could it be from the heat yesterday or the new surroundings? I've never had a dog before and am worried about her. She is alert and taking everything in, just a bit lethargic and listless. Thanks for any suggestions til i get her to the vet on Monday. :)

My puppy has recieved his first vaccination(the 4 in 1, and Coronavirus. How long are you supposed to wait in between shots? And, how many sets should be given? Will 3 suffice, or is it better to be extra cautious and give them 4?

About a week ago, my dog got out. When she was returned to us, she was limping. The person who found her did not mention it. My only theories on this matter are that she had her paw unintentionally crushed by a heavier object, she may have a foriegn object embedded in her paw, or she has a serious sprain, or even a broken bone. As of today, she yelps whenever pressure is applied to the paw (this can happen when she is lying down, or if I touch it) Also if I attempt to pick her up, she starts yelping and crying uncontrollably, so much that it is honestly ear-splitting. She will still walk and limp to greet people, but she cannot by any means run. But what I would really like to know is the estimate of the cost to have my dog checked by a vet. Also, are there any ideas to what may be ailing my dog? I am very worried that this may be a serious concern. Thank you.

I'm curious of the breakdown of what dogs people own on Answers. So, here's my poll. There are seven categories for dogs, based on their popularity and if they're purebred.

Write how many dogs in each category you own. Please put your poll answer at the top of your answer. If you want to say more about your dogs, please do so after the poll results. For example:
Most Popular Breed: 2
Mixed Breed with Unknown History: 1

Here we go. There are seven categories:
1. Most Popular Breed
2. Very Popular Breed
3. Slightly Popular Breed
4. Less Well-Known Breed
5. Rare Breed
6. Mixed Breed with Known History
7. Mixed Breed with Unknown History

The first four categories are defined below. Basically all AKC breeds, based on popularity and registration stats. I've also added the American Pit Bull Terrier since that's a popular breed without being AKC-registered. It's in the same category as the AmStaff. Rare breeds are any purebreds not listed.

I've just adopted a new puppy, very suddenly. My husband rescued her from being euthanised (as were the rest of her litter mates.)
I have an 11month old beagle mix, who is EXTREMELY active. She's a very hyper dog, needs lots of exercise and attention. The puppy is a bassett hound, and she's about 10 weeks old.
I've never really had more than one dog at a time, except for brief periods, like fostering.. but nothing that required intensive training.
My beagle wants to put her paw on the puppy's head, she likes to knock her over. If the puppy is sleeping or sitting still (she's reaaaaaaallly lazy), it seems to drive the beagle nuts. She will start biting at her muzzle and putting her paw on her head.
Is this behaviour unacceptable? Is this a dominance issue?
I'm really not sure how to LET them behave together, I don't want them to form bad habits, but obviously I want them to play.

My dog has been dragging his butt on the ground pulling himself with his front paws. It looks funny, but, gross. What could be causing him to do this? Does his butt just itch, could it be worms? He is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Very healthy other than that, but we have had some instances of vomiting. Not very often though and that seems normal.

I love coming in here to the dogs section to see how many people really don't have a clue! I am not sure who is worse, the askers or the answerers. What do you think? You have people who think that they have a "agressive puppy" because it growls and barks at them! (Come on folks, have you done any research before getting the dog?) And then you have idiots saying "smack the puppy when it growls!" (Yeah, no the rocket scientist there!)

Does anyone have a clue? Then, when someone who knows what they are talking about, they are sent nasty e-mails! I think what really drives me nuts is that when it comes to the "best answers", these brainless wonders pick someone with 10+ thumbs down!

Please, do a little research. Take the dog to the vet when it is sick and "hasn't eaten for a week"! And, if you ask a question, expect that there are a few people in here who know what they are talking about, and 4 times as many who don't. Now would that be so hard?
