My male dog was neutered almost 2 months ago- he runs upto 5miles some days and is still bouncing off the wall with energy. What has changed.

When i first got him he would not actually stop and have a 'big' pee he would just mark everything- it took me 45 minutes before bed to be sure he had emptied his bladder. He is a little calmer when we're not running, playing etc- which I enjoy.

That's it. He is also still interested in females in heat. He's still the same dog- he just can't make babies and is less mark-crazy.

They don't become fat and lazy, they may become more mellow, though not necessarily 'lazy'.

The benefits far outweigh the downsides (although there are very few downsides to speak of!) it eliminates unwanted marking in the house, reduces or eliminates the want to roam and find a female in heat or dig under the fence, aggression toward other males, and of course, eliminates contributing to the pet population!

Your pet will be the same. They will be as playful, as intelligent, as loyal, as cute and as active as they were before the surgery, not many changes.

Forget the testicle removal. What happens to any male, human or animal that has all of his testosterone removed? Have you seen the effects of that loss of hormone? Do some real research instead of asking people here and find out for your self. If you want to make it easier, look under my answers for a detailed response.

They are less likely to hump, mark, roam, and become overly dominant or aggressive. I have 3 male nuetered dogs and known many others that are active and playful. I could be wrong but I seriously think that is an old wives tale and if a dogs personality changes it is because they are entering adulthood.

Some dog if they are old they might be lazzy, but if the dog is young it is still playful. From your friend Stephanie

If you neuter them early enough, they might not develop strong male features. I have a golden retriever, and his head is not big and wide as other males that have not been neutered.

They don't get fat and lazy as a result of neutering. That is a result of lazy owners not taking them out for walks, or over feeding.

It's actually a scientific fact that when a mammal's neutered it loses energy and gains body fat. That's because it loses male hormones which help build muscle and give the dog energy. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong or feels guilty because they did it to their dog

They're still playful stuff like that is a myth. If your dog or cat for that matter is lazy, it is the owners fault for not playing with it or noticing it needed a diet.

They act pretty much the same except they don't go crazy when they smell a female dog in heat. Neutered dogs are just as active as unneutered ones, they can be just as aggressive too. Dogs that have been fixed will even continue to dry hump one another. As dogs age unneutered ones tend to have more health problems too.

They become soft lazy boring wimps. If that's what you want in your dog I guess that's okay. I wouldn't do it though
