Review your house training. The best piece of advice a very experienced Dog Handler gave me when I started 45 years ago was. "Never be afraid to go back to square ONE!"

A potch on the heiny is to slap his bum, however this is not the answer. and neither is to remover water, im sure you wouldnt like to see a child without a drink all night.
I have 3 terriers that used to pee on the floor of the kitchen and we have a very large kitchen. The method i used was to pt an old slleping bag down as a bed so thaat it covered a large area and to put out 3 bowls of water and scatter dried biscuits over the areas that got peed on. a dog will not pee where it eats or sleeps and that did the trick for my dogs. They are now 2, 1 1/2 and 1 and they hold all night and even a short while in the morning while the family organises its self.

At that age they don't have the muscle control yet. You have to still get up twice or more a night to take him out. Crate training is great but still have to take him out. Poor guy will just hold it all night which could lead to infections...not good or okay on your part..remember it's not his fault to has to good or has to go in the area he's placed at.
Make sure your if your loved one goes on the floor that your not punishing him, for he will not know the difference. He will mistake your madness that going to the bathroom is wrong, which it's not and not understanding that where he's done it is wrong...he doesn't understand the difference between the two.
Having a pup is like having a new born baby, you have have to get up for those nighly feedings..but in this case...it's potty breaks.

He is still pretty young, puppies, and he is still a puppy, can only hold a wee for about three hours. In a few months, he will have grown as will his bladder capacity, and he won't wee on the floor at night. Put some paper down, or buy some puppy pads and encourage him to go on that for now, it shouldn't be too long before he stops.

crate training does work and its not cruel as long as its big enough for them but you got to remember you dog is still a pup and hasn't matured yet,big dog can take a lot longer to house train ,i all ways leave water down ,just a bit never would leave it with none ,good luck with your dog x

Have you even bothered to take him to the vet? Could be a health problem. There are kids like that with small bladders. They need to outgrow it. Maybe he has a problem too. Have your vet check him.

definatly get a crate. Make sure it is big enough to lay down stand up and turn around in, and no bigger. They don't like to pee where they sleep so he will learn quickly not to go.

Crate train him. He will not wee in his crate but once or twice before he learns that it's not a good idea...
