I'd like to know more about them... Do they get along with kids/other animals? Do they bark excessively/run away? I know that they need a fenced yard. What kinds of behavior/medical problems have you had with your own? I have done some research, but I also know there are just some things breed websites aren't going to tell you. I have a 1 year old daughter and I am planning eventually to have more kids. My Saint Bernards have been excellent with my daughter, so I know that giant breeds aren't necessarily a problem just because of size. If anyone has a suggestion for another giant breed that would be good with small children, I'm open to suggestions. And by giant breed, I mean the breed standard over 100 lbs...... I am a vet tech, and I just don't see many giant breed dogs.....1 Saint Bernard other than my 2, A couple Great Danes, and 1 Bullmastiff.

It also can't poop or pee - ever. And it has to spit out golden eggs and make me a million dollars. Oh, and I'm going to get rid of it as soon as I find a better dog. And I'll probably breed it 700 times just to see what it makes.
Good Idea??

I am so sick of these questions!! ANYONE ELSE?

I don't know which one he has, but he's been biting at his butt and back legs for a few days now...and today he's been whining and snapping at his backside. I don't see anything on him when I search him but I still don't want to not do anything.

I have a 4-months old malchi (chihuahua and maltese mix) who is getting to be dominant/aggressive. When I try to get near her toys, she growls and doesn't let me any nearer. The same goes when she has food. I try to correct this behavior but I can never seem to get near her. I try to take her toy or food that is causing the dominance but she attempts to bite me. Many said to put her on the ground (to show I'm the leader) and hold her there till she quiets down but once more she bites me. She seems to have a bit of a biting problem for when I pet sometimes, she growls and she snaps at me. Any suggestions on what I should do? Please don't say obedience class for I already know that as an option.

She is very sweet and very well behaved. She is a whippet mix and 5 months old but she LOVES people and jumps all over them and me when she see them. Any suggestions as to how to train her not to do this. I tell her no but she is like ADD dog. She doesn't focus very long. Help!

So we got our puppy about six or seven weeks ago. For the first two weeks my brother and I werent home during the day b/c we're in grade school. Therefore, she was home alone all day. Since school left out someome has been with her all day. For the past two weeks (aprox) she has become increasingly jealous of my father. Whenever he comes home from work she flips out. When I hug my father, she whines. When my father and my mother kiss, she even barks. Yesterday, I was showing my dad some pictures (we were standing close) she started to bark and whine. Trixie (our puppy) turns two next month. We got her from our nearby SPCA, and shes a golden lab. Do you have any ideas on how we can keep our puppy from being so jealous? Because she gets so wound up when he gets home, our hardwood floors are getting ruined. Any advice?

I have an approx 1 1/2 yr old shepherd mix female puppy/dog up for adoption. I've tried craigslist....I've emailed several "no-kill" shelters and they haven't responded....I've tried local ads...everything. This dog is gorgeous. She's mixed with a smaller breed (like a chow) so she's skinny, but strong...long, but thin....and sweeter than any dog I've ever met. She's a big baby...has to sleep in a bed, has to "eat with us" (as in she'll only eat from her bowl if we are sitting at the table near her eating)...she's a big lovable sweetheart and needs a good home.
You are wondering why I need to adopt her out if she's so wonderful, right? I rescued her from someone else who rescued her. I had NO idea that my daughter and I would develop allergies! It's been very very hard and if it was just me...I'd suffer, but I can't put my daughter through this.
I am asking a VERY small re-homing fee to ensure she goes to the MOST loving home. I will NOT tolerate anything less.

Help!

My brother always torments the dog after 4 yrs of living with him. The dog bites him to do self defense but the bro wont be doing anything and hell growl at him. I want some justification. I dont think he should go away if hes defending himself.

I have a 7 yr old basset hound. He has always been a lil coward I guess you would say(well unless he's behind a gate lol) I mean a couple months ago the repair man came over to fix our shower and the dog just sat there and shook. But today the lil girl I watch and her grandma walked in while I was sitting on my bed(they always just walk in I leave the door unlocked for them) and he just started barking and howling and growling at them I had to have him calm down and show him that they were ok its just weired behavior for him he is scared of everything and only barks at the sheets and pillows lol

Could this be because I'm pregnant I mean he hasn't been treating me any different well he'll try and cuddle with me more often but thats a whole other story

Do you want to breed your dog? If so, do you know how much it really costs to breed responsibly? People really need to think about this before just breeding their pet with the pet down the road. There is NO money in breeding dogs period! How many of these people asking breeding and whelping questions really are doing everything to better a breed?

She is fairly young. I can't quite decide what breed she is. I would post a pic, but I can't find my digital camera. She has the coat of a pomeranian, looks like a teacup chihuahua in the face, and has ears like a papillon. Any ideas as to her breed? We had to get her off a busy road...she almost got hit several times. She is sweet...but fairly young.

I saw this and felt sorry for Pits. I would never own one and see a reason to stop breeding them. Now I feel stronger that we need to stop "Back Yard PIT Breeders" What are your thoughts?
