I don't hate Pit Bulls. I just know the facts, this breed suffers a lot. It's overbred, but so are other breeds.
But, the thing that makes this breed so exploitable by heartless folks is the fact that it is called a 'Pit Bull' (name alone suggests bull baiting and fighting in a 'pit'), it has a 'bully' image and is associated with viscious behaviour and attacking both people and other animals, thus it attracts too many scummy people who just want it because of it's bad reputation or so they can fight it. That is exactly why this breed suffers so much. Do you think wanting to see less of these dogs so that the scumbags can't find any is the same as hating these dogs? Hardly.

Not getting into a religious dispute here but the Lord did not create the American Pit Bull Terrier, man did by combining different breeds together (can't recall which ones at the moment).
Also for the record, I am not a hater of the breed :) I happened to grow up with some very outstanding ones (and also one who wasn't trustworthy around people but you get them in every breed), and my cousin used to breed them as well. One of hers just LOVES children and other animals.

God didn't create the Pit Bull. If God created anything, he created the wolf. People turned the wolf into the dog. Then they turned the dog into the Pit Bull. Remember, every breed was designed with a purpose in mind. Pits are exactly what they were made to be: smart, loyal, obediant, protective, alert, strong, healthy, and able to hang onto the nose of an enraged bull.

It's not the Pit Bulls that are at fault, it's the irresponsible, uncaring owners of the Pitts that are at fault. Any dog breed can be aggressive, if not trained and cared for properly.

I own 2 Pits myself. Best Dogs I have ever owned. Most people are just ignorant when it comes to dogs!! I also have a 2 yr old daughter and a 4 month old son. My Pits are awsome with the kids!

I'm one of those p/b haters. its not the breed its the idiots that have them. just 2 days ago a 2 year old little boy was killed by his uncles p/b. the uncle said he didn't think the dog would hurt a person. he said he thought he had taught him only to attack cats and other dogs that wondered in his yard.....like i said its the idiot of the humane kind that has ruined this breed.

i have a pit bull who was at my house one day when i came home from work. no idea where he came from and has huge scar between eyes, quess about 2 years old now. have 4 other dogs but kept anyway. been about 10 months and i like him more every day. most loving dog i have ever seen. i do think he is just so happy to have a good home. named him spud.

What an idiot. You don't even know what you are talking about. You are the type of idiot that give pit bulls a bad name. God did not create pit bulls, man did. pit bulls are in the news a lot here lately. there were 2 attacks just this week alone!! i don't blame the dog !!! i love pit bulls !!it's the owners who are irresponsible !! they let the dogs roam the streets.and than you have the SICK MINDED People,who fight the pit bulls for money !!! they are trying to ban pit bulls,which makes me sad.i wish they would lock up,those people who fight dogs for money!! they should serve some serious time in prison!!!

He didn't. Pitt Bulls were origninally bred in the 1800's to bait bulls. Bull baiting was outlawed, so they were then bred to be extrememly dog aggressive for fighting purposes
The bulls were put int a pitt with the dogs hence the name pitt bulls.
